1/72 Cloud City Diorama with PG Falcon and FM Slave 1

And the final piece of this expensive, complicated puzzle has arrived... Well, pieces...lol

A huge, gigantic thank you goes out to nkg for designing these beauties! Please note that I opted for the 'busy' version and not the 'purest'. To each!

Same here! I really like this part because it's basically the first time I'm modifying a falcon this much. The 1/350 pocket version was fun... but this presents some serious challenges given the scale.

Excellent. Looks great in black. :) But one of the detail parts on the back of the right-hand piece (in your hand) looks like it's snapped off. :(

I see it now... looks like that was gone before I opened up the package... I'll have to check the little bag and see if it's in there somewhere... Thanks, and good eye!

Such amazing work in this thread! The way you two (ngk and korben44) are almost collaborating is awesome :)
you hit it pretty close to the mark my friend...Korban and I pretty much cheered Nkg on, to do those up for us, and for everyone else doing the ESB conversion...and the man came through, brilliantly! As did Tony 308 Bits with the extra landing gear and boxes. the best two designers out there if one were to ask my opinion.(y)

Moment of truth - are the pits the right size for the holes? :)

Well... I haven't gotten to that point yet... But they will work. I'll make the holes work for the pits... I'll have more pictures tomorrow when I get to work on it more closely...

Here's what I have so far. Now I need to adjust the gear box a bit so the gap near the bottom isn't as wide as it is. And gt350pony66 pointed out the bottom left needs adjustment, too, based on Jaitea's overlays. But, this side is almost done and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Just a side note.... If anyone comes across any reference shots of the Cloud City landing pad and building, please, feel free to post that info here. I've done a lot of research on it already, but any help is welcomed!

I believe I cut out the other side correctly, or as close to correct as possible. I still have to tidy up the port side to close the hole up a bit. But, I'll have some primer on the white spots and then paint and weathering... This is exciting!

I had to see how she looked with the whole bottom together. I still have to cover the port side hole (when looking at it from the bottom) a bit and add some other details, paint and then weather, etc... But here is where I'm at. The two legs don't quite touch the ground, but it'll have to do and I'll adjust the landing pad to make up the difference.

Looks great!

You are a much braver man than I cutting apart a $300 plus model!

It sure is worth it though to get the 5 gear version
