1:24 Scale Death Proof Nova (Need Help!)

Hey there, guys! I'm new to the board, but I've been trolling around for months in order to get all the tips and tricks I need to complete my 1:24 scale Death Proof Nova. So in a way, all of you helped make this lil' guy.

But I still need help. I've yet to make the license plate for it. There's a website that generates plate jpegs, but resizing them for 1:24 scale cars makes the decal real pixelated. Does anyone know how I can print out an unpixelated plate? Keep in mind I don't have access to or knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.

Thanks in advance!

While this would better go into the General Modeling section...

I figure it couldn't hurt to answer you question since I'm already here and I love Death Proof.

The way you want do it, is to make a fairly large picture of the plate. You want it to be big clear and crisp before you scale it down.
Next up, is the step that seems a bit odd. Don't scale the picture itself down before you print.
Open up the Print Preview window. If Illustrator is anything like Photoshop, then you should see an area marked "Scaled Print Size". You should be able to type in the exact dimensions you want for the plate. This will scale down the image to the size you need and keep the high resolution. :)

That's a sweet looking Nova though. Did you use the die cast kit with the big ugly wheels for the base? I'd like to hear more about how you built it up. I know of some real great pictures of the original car too. :love

That is one of the nicest buildups I have seen in this scale....You might have to give your secret!! BTW, welcome to hell!....oops...I mean the board!!!!

It used to be a Maisto 1:24 scale Nova SS. I filled in the hood vents with JB Weld, primed and painted. The SS logo was X-acto carved off of the bumpers and the grill was resculpted with Super Sculpey and a needle. The interior was resculpted to remove the molded backseat, ugly molded dash and shifter. The roll cage is 1/8 inch dowel cut and hotglued together. The steering wheel and handbrake is Sculpey and thin cardboard, as was the exposed interior door panel. Rose's Crash Box seat was Sculpey and dowel. The Crash Box divider was cut out of thin plastic and punched with a needle. The rubber ducky hood ornament was ordered off of eBay and after the whole thing was painted with a variety of Folk Art Acrylics and Black Primer, the skull decal was printed onto white decal paper from a JPEG I got here on the board that I shrunk down and cleaned up pixel by pixel on Microsoft Paint.

But alas...still no license plate. With everyone's advice, I'll get right on it though.

Thanks for the praise!

You beat me to it!
But he's right...the owner of the hero car is a member here.

That would be Propazoid. He pops in on Death Proof related stuff from time to time since he does infact own the Hero car. He seemed like a pretty cool guy when I linked him to the auction and in the subsequent conversation about him buying it and all that. I've asked him a few questions about stuff on the car before though and he never answered those, so I dont know. He has a website; deathproofcar.com.

I misread the original post here however. I thought you had said that you had Adobe Illustrator. So I gave out info on how to scale it down right in photoshop since I figured they were similar. Serves me right for not reading closer.
So what programs do you have? Or are you just stuck with MS Paint?
