yourprops.com news!

We added new watermarks to all the pictures on the site, since the old ones sometimes were invisible, depending on the background they were over.
The new watermark now contains the path to your collecion on the site, so if someone hot-links the image from another site, people will know where to find more on the item pictured.

I really like the idea and thanks for doing it but I have to be honest ... it's a bit large and in your face. Any chance for something more subtle?

Actually, a few people complained, so for now, we are back to the old watermarks. But we will add a feature that will let you add an additional watermark to your pictures.

the "Comments" in the top right corner of the site used to show the most commented items. They now show the most recently commented items.

Weird, I don't even know how it's possible that my meager collection is in that list.

This is something that Tim and I have discussed for quite a while now. We have gotten together and developed an integration between our two websites. Here is the article from our newsletter sent out today:

YourProps and ScreenUsed
Based on a partnership between our sites, we have added an integration allowing you to post your collection purchased at ScreenUsed on the YourProps website with a few clicks.

STEP 1 - The new feature allows you to see a list of your past purchases in order to share those with friends as well. Once you are logged into the site, just click on the My Orders & Profile tab, then the Social Share menu. You will be presented with a list of your recently purchased items with two buttons next to each. One button allows sharing your item on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Email, etc. and the second button allows posting your item in your account on YourProps.

STEP 2 - When you click on the YourProps button for one of your items, you will be presented with the following screen. This screen displays the YourProps fields for posting, including the ability to modify various fields and select up to 5 pictures.

STEP 3 - Once you have clicked the submit button at the bottom, just go over to YourProps and see your item automatically posted for you.

Don't forget to use the new Screenused.com upload feature to post your auction winnings on yourprops!

We now have a field for certificates of authenticity.
I have already entered the COA for a couple thousand items.

There is a new category on yourprops.com now: "made from scratch".

While the category "scaled scratch-built" only covered models built from scratch that were not studio scale, this new category covers props as well as costumes made from scratch.

Thanks Birdie. Great idea!

When listing your collection, please make sure to not repeat the movie or TV show title in the item title field. Thanks! :)

The yourprops.com messaging sytem now quotes the message written by another member within the notification email.

on Thursday, July 23, yourprops.com will be moving to a new server.
We will be disabling the login and for a few hours on that day.

FYI

Sorry if I missed any update, but is anyone else having trouble accessing YourProps.com right now?

On Facebook they posted 22 hours ago: "We apologize but due to a hardware failure on our servers yourprops.com is currently offline. We will keep you updated as soon as we're online again."
