You have never seen the Blade Runner blaster before - PHOTOS RESTORED

No I can not share them with anyone at this time.
[/b]

The word you were looking for is won't, or will not... "I will not share them with anyone at this time."

There is an important question I think we all need the answer to...

Rich, did you ask Karl not to post the pictures in the first place?

Rich, did you ask Karl not to post the pictures in the first place?

[/b]

Which would also be kinda contradictory to the whole "I cannot think of hiding information".

See how the mere injection of convoluted ideas, minor spins, unrelated facts, information overload (473 posts), irrelevant side issues and a little obfuscation can start confusion? This is why it is so hard to convict people in court. In a short period of time many of us will have difficulty recalling who did what, who accused who, who claimed what, etc. and the real story and back stories will be lost within yet another cloud of mystery that is the world of BR.

Tail waggin' the dog. :lol
[/b]

Very well-stated and good point, Eltee.

Though I cannot help but to think there IS a common thread to the many divergent (or semi-divergent) thoughts, comments, and theories, and that as such, the present obfuscation may be due to a distinct lack of forthright information, or information being consciously withheld...

Because Sidkits did it so well:

entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem

I think the simplest answer just might be right.

"Entities should not be multiplied beyond necessity"?

Oh I see.

Perhaps Rich should reply with:
"Romanes Eunt Domus"

Problem is, since certain and specific information is not being shared (who did the asking, who owns the gun, what other prop owners asked the pics to be taken down, who is in this mystery group that is so upset?), we are left with mere speculation (which is one thing this community is VERY good at).

Hell -- based on the present level of information, this whole damn thing could have been cooked up by C&S alone in order to retain their holiness as the Deckard Gun Gurus, (though probably not*)... Apparently, no one but Richard has first hand experience with or knowledge of the request to remove the pics, and no one but Phil is familair with this mysterious "upset group". Other than their word in these posts, how do you really know....?*

*This is NOT an allegation and should not be interpreted as such -- it is merely an example of how the lack of info can lead to incorrect assumptions.

And the vocative plural of 'annus' is . . .

Hell, I'll allege.

The simplest answer is usually right.

You've got Rich with a gun that he thinks someone is going to beat him to the market with.

You've got Phil with an expensive BR wallet that has an ID that supposedly looks nothing like the ID in the pics we saw.

It isn't hard to connect the dots, especially when no one is talking. I have no problem admitting I'm wrong (if indeed I am). But it is the simplest explanation.

Man I cannot believe that all this is over something so totally unimportant as a freakin movie prop. :p I would like to thank Karl for originally posting the pictures (that I thankfully saved) on what is one of the most entertaining threads ever. If the Blade Runner mafia happens to be lurking here is a bit of advice, if you don't want pictures of your props posted on the internet then don't allow it to be displayed in a public place. My god the stupidity and lack of common sense is overwhelming. It's a stupid prop not the cure for cancer. I love Blade Runner and prop collecting but damn.

This is getting real weied..

As he was the first one to make the find and had then informed me, I felt he had the right to first post.

I am under the same request , not to share these pictures.

I have tired to show up and give some answers, so that my not showing would not be read as doing something behind everyones back, but it is beginning to look like that will no longer help, as every word I print seems to have three meanings...

So I think I will drop out now.

Rich

'nother .02$ :p

After TRYING to enjoy this thread with itÂ’s free exchange
of ideas and the WOW factor from a new discover that has
made me LOVE props so much to this TRAIN WRECK of
a mess itÂ’s now devolved into ALL for the sake of making some
“ UBER HIGH UP “ collectors happy I have only one thought….

I see an image in my mind.

A dimly lite room illuminated only
by a candle DEEP in the bowls of some home.

And there, lying on the floor curled in the fetal position
is a man gently stroking his rusted butt plate
and whispering to an empty roomÂ…Â…

“MY OWN,

MY LOVE,

MY PRECIOUS… “

No I did not ask Karl to post his pictures, we both said we would post and tell about the find together or more or less at the same time...

As he was the first one to make the find and had then informed me, I felt he had the first post.

I am under the same request , not to share these pictures.

I have tired to show up and give some answers, so that my not showing would not be read as doing something behind everyones back, but it is beginning to look like that will no longer help, as every word hell every letter I print seems to have three meanings...

So I think I will bow out not

Rich,

There are "three meanings" because no one here understands one thing you are trying to say.

More or less? Well, was it more or was it less? Did you ask that these pictures not be posted in the first place? It is a simple question.

Maybe I am being too honest here, but the reason why your explanations do not work is because they appear disingenuous.

Definetly a big thanks to Karl for posting those pics originally.

Now I used this image in a thread that was later nuked, but I think it applies well here. Sorry if it is a little childish for some of you :)

We haven't seen this kinda drama in ages. In the end, I'm just happy to have gotten to see pics of the prop. Amazing discovery. Thanks for sharing.

No, I'm smiling because it's the freaking Bladerunner blaster. :lol

OK MORE clarifications... Coyle did not request that I not post any photos. He did ask me if I would consider writing an article to go up on his site, to which I agreed. But as I told him at the time, I fully intended to share my photos with everyone.

There are certain specfic details of the prop, which Coyle discovered during his examiniation of it, which he requested I not talk about. I have honored his request, because they were his observations and not mine.

OK Coyle has told me I can go ahead and talk about what it was that he asked me not to talk about.

It's involving the bolt. Folks had figured it out already from the photos. The bolt can only be pulled back a little ways, because there's a screw to retain it. When you pull up the lever the bolt rotates within the barrel and reveals that little wedge-shaped cavity.

Plus the little "probe" point in front, retracts when you pull the bolt back (it's probably attached to the bolt).

I think what someone said earlier on this thread makes a lot of sence,Calm down and take a couple of steps back.IT all started out with some really great pics of a prop that hasn't been seen it God know how long a time and I was happy to see it what it looked like and to see it kind of in the flesh. Now this whole thing has got out of hand. If the owner want the pics off the thread fine. It's not worth bitching about if we can't look at this getting out of hand.Wait a while and see what happens.Rich I hope you are not in any trouble over this.I havn't really took a long look at all the posts and all but I think we should see how the dice fall and I hope Rich can still make what I think is one of the most iconic props ever and be able to have it availible to those who can appreicate what they have in this item. But thats just my 2 cents worth :cheers :thumbsup Thanks

I just hope when Rich DOES do a run the first primo copy will go to Karl Gratis.

He really deserves it..
