You have never seen the Blade Runner blaster before - PHOTOS RESTORED

Yup its about money. Too bad. I guess if ownership of a rare prop is just about the cold cash and nothing else then...well IMO its sad. :(

Karl- Thanks for lighting up this board with your pics. Iam truly thankful that you had decided to share these wonderful rare shots of of the greatest scifi weapon ever made. :)

Rich- keep up the good work. :)

I'm giving up on this little game. The whole thing just disgusts me more and more. In fact, I'm getting rid of my (only) BR items. But seeing as this is my last post on the matter, and I love a mystery, my money is on Jeff Walker being the owner of the PKD.

I think that what Anthony Hopkins said in the role of Dr Van Hellsing in Bram Stokers Dracula sums it all up."We are God's madmen" But thats just my 2 cents :cheers :thumbsup Thanks

Wow, Jeff Walker the owner of the PKD. I think you may be right Tiff (Juno)

Anyway, I am sure these pictures will pop up in more and more places. As we can see it has already started.

Dont take something out in public you dont want to be seen. Also dont anger the prop god's...

Take care,

Tom

...not so. There are members here who have gotten access to these props and shared what they could. They didn't do it by being insulting[/b]

...And have then had the rug pulled out from under them by some guy(s) pulling a hissy fit. Not to mention that the prop in question was on display to the public, and was only fortuitousley happened across by one of our own.

Whoever made the call to have those photos pulled is effectiveley trying to stop people on this board talking about the prop. I do think the frenzy to reproduce the weapon as seen could have been handled better, allowing the discussion to take place and the hooplah to die down, but I'm sorry, the actions of the owner still seem mean spirited and a mite hypocritical given the nature of its discovery.

The pictures are out there, the gun will be built. It may not be by Rich, but it's gonna happen. It seems impossible not to draw the conclusion of an ill-thought decision to display served up with a dessert of sour grapes.

You know, I posted my little rant back on page 17, walked away from the computer shaking my head, sat down on the couch and my girlfriend asked me "What were you laughing about in your office?"

I said "Prop drama."

She smiled and chuckled and asked "That gun from Blade Runner?"

I replied "Yeah, I think someone is trying to control how free people post pictures from a public event on a public message board, all for thier own personal financial gain. It's pretty sickening."

She said "Yeah, people get crazy when money is involved. They could care less about freedom and rights and stuff."

I smiled "Yeah, rights. That's a good one."

:unsure

Then we watched Rockstar. :thumbsup

Please understand. I was contacted by the owner and asked to pull the
Photos.

I felt that if he has not spoken to Karl, then I was not going to give up
Karl, I felt if trouble happens I would try to protect Karl and take the heat
myself.[/b]

So say NO. They were not your photos to post or to pull, and what do you have to lose?

Rich, I have to say this, but I think Karl is a grown man. Protect him from what exactly? A law suit? A post in this thread? A phone call? A dreaded private message? Who do you think you are to ask anyone to pull photos that ain't yours, some of the coolest photos ever, and then try and act like a victim? Was Karl threatened in some way?

I feel compelled to add this, but should I ever be lucky enough to snap clear photos of the hero gun from blade runner please do not try and protect me. In fact forward my number to the owner directly and let me broker my own de . . . UH, discuss the matter with them myself. :angel

This isn't even any of my business, why do I feel like I've been gut punched?

:confused :confused :( :cry

I'd love to see the owner of the gun, if reading this oh so controversial thread that is upsetting the collectors on high, register and post. Please stop hiding.

WELL i have a dvd of an original TREK TOS phaser being photographed and inspected in depth.

hope the originator doesnt ask me for it back. :angel

as for the PKD , those pics will be for sale on EBAY faster than Pam Andersons PRIVATE f@@k movie. :lol

john :cool

I can sorta see a reason for the original picture takers to take them down on a person request from the owner out of respect. But F man, little too late now to try to suppress them totally. I dont see why someone else just doesnt repost the images and let this thread continue on its path of discovery. Am I missing something? This is a forum about discussion, research, and sharing information about props.

Make a bunch of quick cash or get booted from the RPF...hmmm...tough one :lol

These aren't the photos you're looking for.

You can go about your business.

Move along.

Seriously though Karl thanks for posting the pics they were great :thumbsup

It's just a shame they had to be taken down due to unfortunate and unforseen circumstances.

Cheers Chris.

From what he was told, I think Phase Pistol did the right thing. The owner did a great service by allowing him to document the pieces. They are Karl's photos, and in the end, he can do what he wants with them. Reposting them without his permission is pretty bad form and I would hope no one does this.

Hopefully this works itself out. It's really funny that the only person that has a financial gain from this is the same person delivering the "take down" message.

If the owner knew about the pics being posted here then he must have seen who originally posted them. If he did then why didn't he just email Karl directly??? Karl's website and email are under his personal info.

This whole thing is soooooo fishy.

Perhaps the owner doesn't realize that Coyle and I are not the same person, or perhaps he assumes that I "work" for Coyle (I most certainly do not).

But I agree it is strange that I haven't been contacted directly. Oh well.

Ahhh but one could easily pull a Warhol on you about them....... Hmmmmm ;) :p

I pitched a reality show to Disney about prop collecting and they said, and I quote "We'd need a lot of releases for licensed props wouldn't we?" :angry

Reality TV gotta love it :rolleyes

I pitched a new twist for Big Brother to make it more interesting. Last three contestents fight to the death in a pit with bats with nails hammered through the ends. It's the ending everyone wants surely ;)

They didn't like it........

Political correctness gone mad :angel
