You have never seen the Blade Runner blaster before - PHOTOS RESTORED

OK you guys, anything I divulged through my posts where I quoted Tom Southwell regarding the ID card in the other thread, please forget it now. :)

Karl, I sincerely thank you for the contribution you made as I'm sure others do, but I have to scratch my head at the reason you are giving for doing this. To me it's confusing the situation even more.

Why the mystery after the cat's out of the bag?

Wow. The title to this thread just got tinged with a layer of irony.

"You have never seen the Blade Runner blaster before..." and you won't for a little while.

Too bad this had to happen.

We always find a way to suck the fun out of everything [/b]

What do you mean WE? I thought we were enjoying things.

Karl, they are your photos to do with as you see fit, and I respect you removing them, and hey man, your'e a good guy. The fact that you posted them at all was quite giving and big hearted.

But now I have to ask it, is this thread even worth keeping around without the photos? I have to vote NO.

:unsure

This was the coolest thread that I have seen here. It is a shame that the amzing historic pics have been removed. I hope we see them again someday.

I have been asked to remove the photographs. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ok, what happened?

Looks like the Blade Runner mafia got to the owner who allowed the pics to be taken.

Color me 10 shades of dissapointed now...

Okay, gotta say I respect Karl's decision. He's well known for sharing information, and doing whatever he can to help out. At least we got a glimpse.

On another matter.......how does this affect RAC's project? Without the new reference, will there still be a version 5?

If I'm not mistaken, Mr. Coyle went to see the hero pistol in person, & took a plethora of his own reference photos.

I sincerely doubt it. It doesn't affect those who have their own photos and I'm sure Richard has his. We just can't see them publicly any longer. But we have seen them. They were out there and there's no denying it. Thank you again Karl for sharing them with us.

The complete and entire reason, is: circumstances beyond my control have compelled me to take them down.

No one is bullying me, and it isn't due to anything that was posted or messaged to me on this or any other board.

Basically I decided to take the pictures down voluntarily to avoid further complicating an already confused situation.

Well, which is it? Were you asked to take them down, or did you do it voluntarily? Reading between the lines, I'm assuming the owner of the blaster has asked you to take down the pics... :unsure

I guess the owner sees this as some sort of "damage control", but after being posted for almost 10 days, and over 16 thousand views, I hardly see the point now. Except for morons like me who assumed the photos would be out there forever, and didn't take the time to copy them. :(

I'm not pointing the finger at you, Karl. If you're honoring a request made by the owner... well, I can appreciate that, even if I don't understand his decision.

In the meantime, if anyone has a copy of the pics and wouldn't mind sharing, please send me a PM. :$

Same here.

Copying the pics was on my to-do list. I thought they would be out there.

Now Rich is asking me which version I want and I have no idea what to tell him. Now that I have the time to study them, they're gone.

If anyone has even a couple please PM me.

PHArchivist,

Integrity is understandable, however; if someone is bullying Karl into removing pictures taken at a public event, that is something else entirely.

[/b]

I agree, this is closing the barn door after the cow has been let out. This was on display at a PUBLIC event.
I hope everyone who took photos of it are contacted. :rolleyes Now this really smacks of elitism.

P.S. I have made a copy of every single photo of the items that were on display and originally posted here.

In Japan, the equivalent expression is he wo hitte, shiri tsubome: "(It's no use) clenching your buttocks after you've farted." :)

But it nonetheless makes you feel like you tried to do something, no matter how small. The action is symbolic.

:lol That's classic.

Also ditto on getting the pics, PM me.

I knew I should've saved them once that other thread popped up.

Berry

It's funny, as soon as this thread popped up I thought something like this would happen.

But really, what's the point in taking them down? Plenty of us saved them and eventually someone will leak them who won't care about the fact that they are Karl's photos.
