WorldCon Blade Runner buildup

Hi guys,

I have just finished this for a guy in Italy. I built and painted it during my lunch breaks (Its the only spare time I get these days) to match the Profiles In History photos. I still need to change some of the hex/button heads, wire up the electronics and dirty down the grip, but other than that it is pretty much done.

That is in all likelihood the best WorldCon build-up I have ever seen. :love

Congratulations on a remarkable final product.

Thanks guys.
TK, I actually haven't drilled the hole out of the backside of the grip frame...that's one more job to do :)

I have a few quick dumb question- What was the starter for this build up? Coyle? Sidkit?
Also any tips on the fine, subtle rust effect?
Once again. it's a sweet bit o'work

The rust is simply spattered with a tooth brush. I used a mix of burnt umber and raw sienna acrylics. It took a few goes to get the flek size and paint viscosity the way I wanted...but you can just wipe the paint off if you are not happy. I removed any individual speks that I did not like (those that were too large) with a cotton bud. Beneath the rust the gun is painted first with a black, then a silver, then a gun metal. The gun metal layer is rubbed back with a fine sanding sponge to a) dull it down and b) allow the silver layer beneath to begin to come through. Then I did a light wash with graphite polish (Zebo/Zebright) and then with a brown acrylic.

I am not sure of the origins of this kit...it came from Italy via Ebay.
