Also David, did you note the dark brown suede on the outside of the waist stripes of the X2 jacket? I only ask because they're very hard to see in the pictures.
Sorry to be "that guy," David, but I was just wondering when we could expect any updates on the X1 and X2 jackets. I COMPLETELY understand how busy you must be, so I'm not trying to be pushy. I'm just eager to see these babies...
Thanks.

Those are some sweet looking jackets, David. I'm stoked to finally see them done.
The only points I can offer are these:
X1: I didn't realize the leather inside the zippered section of the sleeves was suede. That being the case, I think it would improve the look/durability of that suede section if it had a hem along the edge by the sleeve opening. I know leather doesn't have to have a hem to be secure because it doesn't fray, but I think it would keep it from unnecessarily fraying when people weather their jackets for a more screen accurate look. This may just be my personal preference (for practical purposes), and I have no idea which would be more screen accurate.[/b]
X2: I love that someone finally has done this jacket and done it well. There are three details I would mention. One is the rim of brown suede around the torso stripes; it looks a bit wide to me. If it were about half that width, I think it would look perfect (present, but subtle), and more in line with the Bates jacket (I can't see it well enough on the screen caps to compare it). The second detail deals with the suede in the zippered sleeve sections. The gold ridge at the edge of the cuff (the strip along the base of the red triangle) also appears a bit wide when compared to the screen caps I posted and the Bates version. Again, 1/2 to 3/4 that width would be perfect. The third and last detail also deals with the suede in the cuffs. I really do think that having the edge hemmed instead of free-floating would be better. It could easily be incorporated into the double stitching, would provide a thicker edge for durability, and it would look more like the shot of him catching the keys that I posted (post #60 of this thread on the bottom of page 3, the 4th picture).
All of those are really minor details, but I think they'd add to the jackets. These are just my thoughts and others can feel free to disagree, by all means. But really, the jackets look spectacular. The colors of the X2 are spot on, in my opinion. Kudos to you, David.
If anything I said is unclear, I'd be happy to modify one of your pics to clarify it. Let me know.

First of all....GREAT JOB. What a great thing to wake up to. By far the X1 is the finest replica I have seen. I would NOT finish the inside of the sleeves. Please leave them the way they are. The stripes looks great, both in thickness and color as does the color of the jacket. The coffee is spot on, to me.
My question is about the fit. i like the length of the jacket but does it feel fitted on you? It looks like it is ballooning out a bit BUT this could be that you have put layers underneath it OR the angle to which you took the pick. SO, could you take a pic of the jacket from different angles on a TORSO with the jacket unzippered and ZIPPERED. This will give us a good idea of the fit. I dwell on this because the first Vanson I bought looked like I could stick a pillow in the front when zippered as opposed to the second that fir me like I was born into it....clearly we all want the latter.
