That's a great reference. Good work and thank you...
Unfortunately screen used garments that have been weathered like this jacket here for the film become difficult to replicate faithfully.
For instance, the goldish color I have on mine is spot on to the original..but, before the weathering was done to it and who knows exactly what they did..oils, dirt, sanding...it could have been a number of different techniques to get it that way. I still say the best way to determine it's true color is by the torn off stripe on the sleeve. In theory that shows what the original color of the base jacket is or was...but, it seems most want the coffee color popularly seen in the newer replicas.
I think at this point I too will go with the coffe brown shade for the base.
dijinn,
I just read your review and thank you for posting that. I think you have a great looking replica there. I hope to do something of equal visual impact combined with what I see as 'screen accurate' for this jacket.
So..if there are no objections...I will focus now on the coffee color for the base...sound good everyone??

The pics of the scene on the snow are too manipulated to define a good color... This is the same pic, but without the blue filer, and with a little more ambient light, but I can't dry the jacket.![]()

The two swatch are what the original colors are SUPPOSED to be...
But I can be totally wrong...
