Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

Saw it last night and was very , very disappointed and underwelmed. Quicksilver and the Wolverine jacket were the only stand outs.

I actually liked The Last Stand better.

You usually seem to go against the grain when it comes to comicbook movies lol I remember on FJ.com you mentioned before you didn't care much for Nolan's Batman trilogy, but you liked Batman & Robin I think it was? And now with DOFP most every review out there praises it as the best X-Men movie yet, and again you prefer the one that most fans agree is the worst. Not being rude, just pointing out an observation that made me chuckle a bit, there's always gotta be one rebel among us fans, you're our James Dean lol

Movie was awesome 9/10. It got an applause at the end and didn't look like people were getting bored with it at all. I actually thought it was better than the avengers. It was the perfect mix of X2 and First Class with a lot of new stuff in between. And HELLA loved that Quicksilver scene, peoeple cracked up for minutes, Avengers is gonna have to do a lot to top what Fox did with him. It was really odd seeing Wolverine in the professor's role and the professor in Wolverine's...It felt like X1 a bit only in reverse. LOTS of cameos at the end so be prepared for some serious geekouts

Wardrobe bits i've spoted/non-spoilers:

For those who didn't notice in wolverine's end scene last night, he's wearing a different belt from the one we've seen, a black one in fact. His black shirt was covering the buckle area but it looks to be just a normal buckle, not a western one. The black shirt is a normal undershirt just...black...The collar gave it away for me and the loose sleeves, I have a few like it back in my apartment but they are white (Merona brand but have to double check), really cheap feeling and bad fit over all IMO...The boots he's also wearing are like the ones from Origins. I won't be able to tell if there's an engineer strap or buckle going across the top until the bluray comes out, but they are rounded toe style for sure. In the scene where they are walking in that Paris building, you can see distinct seems on the boot that will make it easy to identify when the time comes. I noticed on his jacket that the sleeves don't have zippers on them, don't know how I feel about that but from the looks of everything, Dan nailed that jacket, no ducktail on it as I previously thought.

I was thrown out of AMC last night...I got there dressed up and brought actual metal claws into the AMC. No problems until the manager came up to me upon concerns of a mother who said the claws made her uncomfortable so i was asked to leave and to not come back until i ditched the claws LOL. Anyways...saw it, thought it was great.

SPOILER BELOW!!!
@Wolvie, the old professor in the new timeline still knows what happened, what are you talking about? He knows what happened in the other movies as well because he read all of Wolverine's memories so its as if the new professor was the same one in the bad future if that makes sense. And how do you do these spoiler things?
@DavidC WOW, you liked the Last Stand better? Be careful saying that around these parts LOL.

SOME SPOILERS BELOW SO DON"T READ IF YOU DON"T WANNA KNOW

But a few things I loved. DAT WOLVERINE MEMORY MONTAGE. WOW...This brought the best bits of every single movie together, even the crappy 2 and made them astonishing. Story and action were on par. From beginning to end, they don't really give you a chance to breathe and I loved it. I'm disappointed that there was hardly any past sentinel action and that we didn't see Wolverine take one down (which was our very last chance)....That Weapon X plot twist involving past Wolverine was amazing, I knew I was gonna get my Stryker moment. What the ending now does with the franchise now is lets the original trilogy cast to do their own thing in a movie if they wanted and gives the First class cast their own as well.

comonbub yeah it was great. I figured the metal claws would be an issue, most places have a strict no weapon policy. The bone claws seem to be really durable this time. On the boots
There is close up shot of the 70's boots when Magneto puts those metal wires into Wolverine
How did the hair and everything turn out for you? Did anyone else dress up at the showing you went to?
You can do the spoiler tags like this (spoiler) (/spoiler), just replace the "(" with "[".

The hair took me 5 minutes. The white spray was a pain in the ass though. The only thing that gave my claws away were because they were clinging around as I carried them.

The part where he drove the metal rebar into him reminded me of when he was getting his adamantium ripped out of him in the comics. I knew at the point when strkyer first saw his claws and the foreshadowing moment of him being pulled out of the potomac that he was going back into the weapon x program after that. I thought his future self was still in his past body at that point.

I hope there's a directors cut with this movie. I'd like to see blood and stuff when they all die in the future. I was shocked at the way they showed the deaths like that, I wasn't expecting the brutality. Also found the best shots of the belt and buckle yet.

@ the Comedian, yes it's true I did not like Nolan's Batman at all. Yes, I prefer 97's Batman and Robin to them.
DOFP really did nothing for me either, I was actually looking at my watch waiting for the end.
Other recent movies..
Iron Man 3, could not stand it.
Thor 2, forgot the story
Captain America 2, great movie
Godzilla, no interest in seeing it

At the risk of going completely off topic for a post or two, I'm curious what you think about the look of Zack Snyder's new Batman? Since you prefer Batman & Robin, you strike me as the kind of guy who likes things that are closer to the comics, and as bad as I think Batman & Robin was, it really was almost exactly like a comic brought to life, the cheesy characters, all the cliche lines, the colors, sets, etc. Just wondering what you think about Zack Snyder's Batman, since it looks like they really finally brought to life the Batman from the comics.

Well, again, I thought Man of Steel was so so...I can't stand Ben Affleck, and I don't know a lot of the new Batman/Superman movie outside of the one, blurry still.

Honestly I think the best Batman movie was Batman Forever..for me, everything clicked as to what I thought a comic book/superhero movie should be.
That and X2..which I loved!

Without spoiling the film to all those who have seen the film do they explain why they don't just send xavier or magneto back in time to there younger selves?
I'm seeing it next Sunday I've had a tradition for every film to take my mum since X2 (was too young to see it alone) so I'm taking her gonna wear my computer jacket maybe with my cowboy boots

I'm wondering how Weapon X will play out since Mystique was actually Strkyer in the end of the movie. I'm wondering if Wolverine will get the admantium from Weapon-X or Apocalypse (like the comics when he retores Wolverine's admantium after Magneto removed it). Plus we don't see if Wolverine has metal or bone claws in the Future.
They can only send Wolverine back, because due to his healing factor, his mind can heal enough to go that far back to the 70's.

@wolfman10
Future Wolverine Has Adamantium Claws . *SNIKT* When sent back and durin' Wolverine's mind link he popped 'em and even slashed Kitty with the adamantium claws. I'd be whillin' to guess in the new time line Wolverine has adamantium claws in the alternate present. It's awesome how the rebar scene played out too! Stryker/Mystique eye flash was unexpected! Weapon X Program should still be part of the flow of the new timeline.

It's safe to assume he did go through the weapon x program when they picked him up, just not the way we were accustomed to in Origins.

Men's Under Armour® Alter Ego X-Men Compression Short Sleeve | 1253880 | Under Armour US

It was only a matter of time before Under Armour got the X-Men sorted out and printed up....But here they are...I had seen the X-Men Wolverine shirt shown with arms lined in, and it looked nasty...But with the blue sleeves it's not soooo bad...I could use the less muscled pattern, just the colours is cool with me...But ah well...This ain't bad!
Thanks to Wolfman10 for the find first off....He and I have been debating the shirt and I finally decided that I could run that far....So I ordered one....We'll see what they look like when it arrives.....
Under Armour, if you haven't seen what they have? Is doing some great gear now....I always liked their compression shirts, but the hero logos are cool as hell..I dig them...Got myself a Punisher and Superman and Spiderman so far....Although they're not sold in Japan commonly (and sold out online here)...So....eBay all the way..

Figured some heads here would like to see these....

Thanks for the credit, but you found the cooler blue sleeve version! I look forward to seeing photos of it and I am considering getting one myself. If only UA would do the DOFP future shirt now...if only. haha

Yeah right? They might..
They ran with the man of steel version as well as the "normal" superman, so it's possible? Although such a small market they might avoid it...
I'm hoping they notice the love!!

I at least knew Vegas Gold would work lol. From all the pics, the top looks like it's made from 3 or 4 different materials, I hope we get something close to the screen top in a couple weeks/month

I've not been a fan of this buckle or belt pattern. BUT I am super-curious about how they achieved the layered look of the belt. Looks like a two-ply leather method glued and stitched on with the X-pattern.
Do any of you agree or disagree with assumption of the way the belt is made?? I'd love some feedback, as I may try my hand at this this summer.

Not sure if this reference has been posted.

Oh...and I will be escorting my wife to the theater tonight to see this. Can't wait to see it in all it's glory...not to mention the end-credit scene!

Looks like a new Wolvie buckle-

Unless I missed it, I don't think this belt buckle made it to the finial cut of the film unfortunately. Someone please correct me if you saw it.
superDrool You are probably right. This really isn't a spoiler, there is a nice shot of the belt when he first picks his jeans up (So watch for that tonight and I hope you enjoy the movie.)
