Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

No reason to be "baffled" really lol I just don't think it looks like Hugh Jackman at all, there's no big explanation, there's nothing confusing about it, just in my opinion, that sculpt looks nothing like Hugh. I've got nothing against Hot Toys, I can't see why someone would aspire to hate a toy company, it's a toy, usually most of their stuff looks awesome, just in this case I find it extremely disappointing.
 
No...I agree with that entirely, but there are a fair few people who seem to repeat the same mantra on pretty much all the Hot Toys figures they reveal...So, I guess for some, it is actually "worthwhile"..I don't get it...But they're out there...I wasn't assuming that was you at all...
And my bafflement comes mainly because we ALL know Hugh Jackman, we ALL analyse these movies insanely, and we ALL have eyes....So, we should see more or less the same thing....But I guess it's just one of those things...It baffles me, cause I see Jackman...And hence, can't understand why you don't...That's all....Nothing remarkable about that..Just a touch confusing really...

I'm sorry that you're disappointed...But they're expensive, so easy to not buy....I reckon..
 
Oh yeah, I'm not ripping on Hot Toys at all - I've seen awesome stuff from them. I think on this one it's just, I don't know - I'm usually pretty good with recognizing faces and facial features, and this one just doesn't ring that bell of instant recognition with me. I think it's the nose, and maybe the shape/size of the chin. The one behind it looks closer to Hugh, to me.
 
I'd expect something resembling the main actor a little more if I was going to fork out that much money for a toy.
The eyes, jawline and the mouth are what sets it off to me, if they were changed or tweaked I think it would look more like Hugh. Like Primo said, I think the one behind it resembles Hugh a lot more.
 
This is not my comparison, but it might end the debate. I think it looks like Jackman, but everybody is entitled to their opinion.

I can see the similarities, but I don't think it looks like Hugh. The eyes, and the chin/jawline are what set it off for me, everything else looks pretty spot on though.
 
Here's a quick crappy photoshop I did to wolfmans image.
All I really did was widen out the jawline a little bit, and shorten the distance between his bottom lip and the bottom of his chin. I think it looks a lot more like Hugh this way.

 
Jackman's got more of a triangled off type of chin, not a block like Henry Cavill. I will say I thought the X3 one they did looked horrible as far as the head sculpt. I still say they origins one was the best.

You're absolutely right. But that doesn't mean we're not aloud to have a healthy debate about the figure, the same as we would/do with anything else whether it be jackets/boots/belts, etc.
 
Yeah, it's always fun to debate these things! I'm not trying to say we are not allowed to talk about the figure. Everyone should voice their opinions on it, I think that is why we are all here. haha
Comedian, I would never try to say that someone's opinion or viewpoint doesn't matter.

Yeah, I'm not worried about the criticisms, everyone's entitled, and hell, maybe we ALL see different things slightly anyway? There's no telling at all beyonf rough ideas....So nah, I'm not worried....

I'm on the side that says that the X3 was a little less "Hugh" than the new "Wolverine" version, and that was all that confused me, but I certainly don't think people shouldn't voice their concerns! That's what this thread is here for eh? No worries.....

I'm happy, because I can't fail to see the likeness, so...That's done and dusted, but it interested me why others couldn't see it...

It's all good..
