Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

Seems to me, there is too much room in the sleeves. The length looks fine. The jacket isn't flattering, but it's ideal for your height. Did you ask for a custom or off the shelf/in stock jacket?

it was off the shelf when i was younger i didnt even know they did custom work it took them 3 months to post it over :/ it looks good with a jean jacket but the sleeves are to wide i could ft another stomach in the front section (its weird its tight on my chest but unless i have a massive beer gut it isn't gonna fit) and the sleeves really bugs me i like my clothes to be slim fittied but im only a 36 chest at just under 6 foot so off the shelf is no good unless its a slim fitted jacket im torn if i should get a wested as i can actually go in and get measured up but even for a good price i dont think it is accurate enough

Yeah. Their standard sizes are wonky. I've never been a fan of off-the-shelf sizes, as no one is the exact same size, and hardly the "standard" size. They nailed my measurements, when I received mine, but then again I worked with them for 4 months on the damn thing. :p

You plan on selling this one to fund the other?

I believe that their XO pattern hasn't changed since then either, as I haven't discussed it with Jorge.
So it's likely that you'd receive the same pattern but in custom form only. It's not SA, yet, but I'll address that one too. First thing is getting that X1 ironed out. ;)

i would sell it but as it was a present i no it would really upset him if i just went a sold it :/ this is why im just looking for a better version of the jacket and then hopefully i can get a nicer one and say does he mind if i sell it

Drool...

Hehe...I had to! It was really the only thing missing after the Vanson arrived....And actually, the combo looks great...Even with other jackets, having the hoodie underneath fills them out just about perfect....

Plus, it kicks arse...Which always helps in clothing.. ;-)

I can't really order unless someone comes along with an X0...The Wested one I have is decent, but the Vanson X0 is the only jacket I'd really like that I've not gotten hold of just yet....The X1 I have is still great, so it wouldn't really make much sense to order another from Heron now...

Doesn't mean I'm not tempted....But I reckon that'd be silly...Probably.....Possibly?.....Maybe?

Whoops! Sorry fifth. That was directed to Sp1derman.
I realize your partial to Dan's/Vanson wears, so I can never persuade you at this point. lol

haha! Yeah, that's what we do here. :p Hock each other's stuff. I love this place too. I've learned so much talking to everyone here. One of two forums I trust.

Read through a third of this thread then it started to blend together lol.

So I figured I take the direct approach.

Wondering if anyone has any info on the Wested jackets and how well they do in the

money vs. accuracy category

Also how well they fit and wear (I know Wested offers a custom jacket option but like most online companys it comes down to how well they apply your measurements to the product)

Wested is not screen accurate at all. Plus I don't believe they take custom orders on the Wolverine jackets. I could be wrong. You'd have to speak to them directly. I know it's not an option if placing n order on the web.

Colors are all wrong. Not sure if they've changed.

Encased...

I disagree.....While I've not seen their X1, the X0 I have from them is fine...Colours are spot on, and the leather is perfect (for what the jacket should look like)...The design is a "touch" off, but only that....It's a jacket I like to wear, and looks more than accurate enough...

Customization can be asked for for a small increase in cost I believe...They'll change a few things, although it only goes so far.....

I can't be sure about the X1 they sell, since I don't own one, but the X-0 they have is more than decent for the price. (I have photos up of it earlier in this thread)..

Regards.

See? This is the effect of the chest/back/shoulder area not being wide enough compared to the bottom. It has to taper down to the waist.

Wested's regular Indy jackets have the box cut. When you lay them out flat it's a square. Not flattering on anyone. But at least you could adjust the side straps on an Indy and correct it to some degree.

Wide shoulders, small waist. Basic hero configuration. Get it wrong and you look dumpy.

EDITED: I'm not meaning to imply Sp1derman looks dumpy. This cut is all wrong for him. How can the shoulders bee so off, with the chest tight while the waist looks right? This makes you look like it's your older brother's coat you borrowed.

so here is my heron i got this just after origins came out when my chest was 2 inches smaller and it still fits to bay for my taste i have always been annoyed because i asked heron what size was appropriate for my size best and they said medium im guessing because of my height being 5'11 but only 36 chest however i still wear it frequently and after just relising wested are in the UK i may have to visit soon (although waiting to see if we get a new jacket in june)

can it be altered or do you guys think its decent it is a very thin leather which i love as i can wear it all year :)

Speaking for myself, the Wested pattern (for the X-0) is fine...There isn't much "flare" going to the shoulders, but it's not especially "unflattering" on me....It looks fine....

It's not such a huge issue...Mine's a 44, I'm in good shape, and it looks good on...Done up it flares naturally since my shoulders push it out some....And while it's not quite as good looking as my Vanson, it's far from a "bad effort"..

In my opinion..

Yeah..But that's not a Wested Jacket?

Didn't mean to imply it was a Wested. Just how a box cut can not be the best look. The Wested comment was in regards to a jacket with that kind of pattern for reference only as it's easy to see in all of the eBay listings laid flat.

EDITED: After a couple drinks I need to word more carefully. Type slower.

Ah..Got ya...

I know even less about Heron's jackets..Although from what I've seen, they look decent enough for the money....I know Drool has worked wonders with them in getting it up to spec, but I think the X-0 still needs a little more ironing out to be "right"....

I don't think it's especially "dumpy"....But I can see what you mean about the straight cut not suiting all body types of course...

Regards..

Hehehe...No worries....I don't think anything offensive was said... ;)

The recent Wested Hero designs for their Indy have a little more flare, but yes, in general, the Wested patterns tend to be a little straight sided...I suspect because more of the clientele are umm....(How should I say this?)"Large around the waist"? So they've needed more "belly room"...

It's a true point though, and yes, that design isn't favourable to looking "good"...I agree...

All I know is that the Wolverine jackets are off enough for me to stay away. My main issue is they are way too long in the body. It's something that also plagued their Indy Jackets.

Their new "Hero" is a copy of a Tony Nowak spec'd jacket since Tony had and original Raiders to copy for 1 night. With Tony's passing I'm glad Wested picked up with the pattern. I still plan on ordering one.

I have 2 Wested's (Raiders) and love them both. They matched my specs requested. Both are boxy as they predate the Hero listing. But for a Wolverine jacket I have Hugh's dimensions and need a better fit. Vanson's XO fits like a glove and hits in the right places.

I want Heron to match that before I order from them. I'd love another Vanson but getting ahold of Dan right now is not happening. Don't know what's going on there.

But the Vanson is all shoulder and chest and hangs right. I can see form Heron;s pics that theirs won't fit me well unless those issues are dealt with.

Wested's leather color does look pretty cool. Just not the light stripes.
