WIP: 1/2 scale WALL•E

This looks great, fantastic, even good even :)...over here in the states we have a product called Rustall that will produce the same result...I've used it many times on my Nautilus replicas, it's real rust so you can't go better than that...

I am just seeing this thread and my god this is one of the finest pieces of work I have seen in a LOOOOOOOONG time Vos.

My son would love this

Thanks guys :)

I know Rustall...it is great for scale stuff. We have something similar here called 'Scenic Rust' It's a ***** load more expensive than standard iron powder though, and as you can see, I am creating A LOT of rust.

I've finished the other half of WALL•E's head, just gotta join the 2 halves together:

I've also made a start on his neck. It is currently foam, clad in styrene and ABS tubing, but I'll eventually cast it in one lump of reinforced resin for strength:

I just realised that I have been watching this thread with my mouth open, eagerly drooling over updates, but I haven't said what a fantastic job you're doing! This is absolutely delicious.

Please keep the progress pictures coming; I need my fix!

Easily the most amazing Wall-E replica I have seen so far! I love it! :love

One detail I noticed a lot of Wall-E builders miss is Wall-E's "Nose" aka where the laser is between his eyes.

You probably were already aware of it, I just thought I'd point it out, just in case :)

This is the best picture I could find at the moment:

Arafinwe,

We haven't missed that. infact when I was in the process while building my WALL-E I did start making the eyes and nose.
The problem is that I didn't have as much information then I our club has now.

My build is just a shadow of what the new builds are and it surely doesn't cast any light on Neils build.

I can't wait till this one is finished.

Oh man. This is turning out just SO wonderful. The detail in the finish is absolutely impeccable!

Good for you! :)

For Christmas, the kids got the Ultimate Wall-e from ThinkWay Toys. Just this evening they were zooming him all over the place.

You should be damn proud of yourself. That's beautiful work. Just beautiful.

Thanks a bunch guys. I wish I had the know-how to make my WALL•E remote control.

While the silicone surrounding the neck pieces cures I made his nose and joined the 2 halves of his head...
