What actor is the best cast as the superhero character they play?

RDJ as Tony Stark. Definitely.
As much as I like Jackman, he just wasn't the REAL Wolverine...

I'll bring two unmentioned ones here, one good and one W-T-F??? :confused

Good:Alec Baldwin in The Shadow,to me he did the character right.

Bad,OMG what were they thinking????:Seth Rogan in The Green Hornet.....I bought the DVD a couple months ago and...well I'm still trying to sort my brain out! :confused

Wow, I've seen a lot that I agree with here. And a few things that have me shaking my head in disbelief, but that's democracy, isn't it?

Big thumbs up for the Popeye cast. LOVE that movie. Don't get all the love for Arnie as Conan, unless that's the way they were introduced to the character. If you read Robert E. Howard's original stories, Arnie is absolutely cringe-worthy as the Cimmerian.

Also don't see why it's necessary to tear down a previous actor when another takes the helm. I mean, is it really necessary to decry Tobey Maguire in order to like Andrew Garfield? Seems a little juvenile to me. I liked Tobey as Peter/Spidey a lot, btw, and while I have no reason to dislike Andrew, I have to say that the new suit is positively stupid looking. He looks like the Amazing Basketball Man!

And considering how comically seriously Glenn Danzig takes himself as a person, I can only imagine his take on Logan/Wolverine being unintentional comedy gold.

Oh, and as for Keaton in Batman? Thought he was great as Wayne, but couldn't get past the ridiculousness of the body sculpted rubber suit when he was the Bat. Here's a character who's supposed to be an amazing acrobat and hand to hand combat expert, and he's wearing something that forces him to swivel at the waist to look left or right and bend at the back to look up? Oy. I realize that wasn't Keaton's fault, but still...

Okay, maybe I should list some faves, rather than just criticize, like I did above. Sorry about that, got carried away.

Hulk - Still haven't seen a performance that I preferred to Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno.
Batman - Have to go with Christian Bale here. Personally the growl doesn't bother me. If he just talked normally, people would just think, "Hey, that's Bruce Wayne!"
Superman - Chris Reeve. Don't get me wrong, I liked George too, but you couldn't help but see that Chris really threw his heart into being Superman, and I really like that.

I promise I'll stop after this, but here's one nobody mentioned: Dick Durock as Swamp Thing. I know the second movie kinda bit, and honestly I never watched the TV series, but I thought he did a great job in the first ST movie.

Who I thought was best? I gotta say I like RDJ as Stark. But that's been said too much.
Keaton as Batman? Also agree, but also said a lot.
What I'd like to see? Keaton as an aging Bats, in a Batman Beyond.

I really enjoyed Andrew Garfield's Peter/Spidey performance.

These have been said over and over but...

RDJ as Stark
Patrick as the Professor
Brandon Lee as Eric Draven
Heath as the Joker

I liked Sam Jackson as Fury, but I still can't believe they actually changed the comic character to match...

...then again this IS the man who talked Lucas into letting him have a purple lightsaber!

"It's the lightsaber that says BAD MOTHER ******* on the side!" LOL

As much as I love RDJ and his portrayal of Iron Man, I know that's not exactly how Tony/IM is in the comics. It's really just...Robert IS very Tony-like and is being himself. (Funny how he and the character have some parallels in life experiences) So I do really love his Iron Man.

Adam West's Batman was great, Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool (but not at the end of the movie - and on that note, what's going on with the Deadpool movie rumors?), Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the Comedian, and Andrew Garfield was my favourite Spider-Man.

And I don't know if it was mentioned before, but I personally really like Liev Schreiber's Sabretooth. But I'm biased because I just really like Sabretooth as a character and was happy to see him in a feature film.

Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man
Christopher Reeve as Superman

Going voice actor:
Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime

Not Superhero but comicbook. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, MIB!

I would have majorly disagree with some of the WORST comments. Does anyone remember a lil movie called STEEL. Shaq was so bad. It reminded me somewhat of Meteor Man. But at least Meteor Man was funny.

RDJ's Tony Stark is a completely different character from his role in the comics, which is, In my opinion, a good thing.

Maybe my Iron Man is a bit rusty (har!) but I thought they gave him just the right amount of alcoholic-womanizer Tony to keep in tune with the comics. Any more and we wouldn't have rooted for him quite so hard.

No, no, Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson was spot on. Whatever that was at the end wasn't friggin' Deadpool.

The Deadpool in Origins was played by Scott Adkins. Never understood why the didn't just slap Ryan in makeup and teach him some moves. Scott Adkins is a great Martial Artist though. If you haven't seen it check out "Ninja".
