What actor is the best cast as the superhero character they play?

The scary thing for me about Tony Stark is that I saw on TV that Tom Cruise was also up for that part. I just can't see it.

Tom Cruise? Seriously, he would need a ladder just to get into the IM suit, not to mention platforms to make him taller than all the other actresses! I just can't see TC in that role at all.

Whilst the character may not have existed before the film I think Liam Neeson was great as Darkman.

"Take the ****ing elephant!".

Tom Hiddleston IS Loki.

Honestly, I usually root for the good guy. Unless this one's involved. Then baaaaaaaaad all the way. Just perfection!

My top two picks are Christopher Reeve as Superman and Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man. No one else can realistically portray those characters in my eyes. In fact, Christopher Reeve's portrayal of Clark Kent is excellent as well.

I also really enjoyed Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America. I was very skeptical at first since I didn't much care for him as Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four movies. The First Avenger is the first movie where I really enjoyed his performance.

Other than that, everyone else I can think of has already been mentioned.

My opion echos everyone else
RDJ as Stark
Jackman as Wolverine
P Stewart as Proff X
Chris Evans as Steve Rogers
etc

but I always thought Jackman as Van Helsing was a good fit!

Mark Ruffalo is the best Banner, so far. He tries to deal with 'the other guy' like a real person.
And this Hulk is the best Hulk. Great casting.

I have to agree with everyone else, RDJ as Tony Stark/Iron Man. He plays the role perfectly.

RDj is the movie Stark/Iron Man that's for sure. But, I really don't remember the comic book Stark being quite having the smart-alecky, line a minute vibe that the movie Iron Man had.

So while Robery Downey Jr./Jon Favreau did a great job with Stark/Iron Man - it's not real faithful nor was he 'best cast' as Iron Man. They basically created a new version - a version that worked very, very well.

Same with Chris Reeve as Superman. I'll argue his Superman was a pale version of the comic book version of Superman. I'll acknowledge that many people look at him the embodiment of Superman, but I personally don't see him as a great Superman... but, that could be as much the writer/director's fault as his.

I do think Brandon Lee was amazing as The Crow.

Jeffery Dean Morgan as The Comedian worked pretty well for me.

Chris Hemsworth's Thor. Amazing casting choice there... the man has a charm that just works so well as Thor on screen. Probably the most spot, perfect casting as a comic book god.

No seriously... :confused :confused :confused

While I thoroughly enjoyed Jackman's portrayal of Wolverine, he wasn't 100% spot on for the role; he's too tall.

And subsequently after the success of X-Men, the comic artists gave Wolverine a bit more height. The character was altered to fit the actor.

Kevin

If you read the Meltdown miniseries they did with Wolverine and Havok and then watch Cape Fear, it makes a lot more sense.

As easily as I can see Danzig posing and mugging for the role, I can't see him being able to act the part. Jackman was too tall and too rangy, but I bought in.

Mark Ruffalo is the best Banner, so far. He tries to deal with 'the other guy' like a real person.
And this Hulk is the best Hulk. Great casting.

This. Ruffalo's Hulk was that "broken" hero that Whedon can write so well. Really, really enjoyed the Avengers.
