D48thRonin, that is some stunning work. Has a ton of great Grordbort tropes, but it's very uniquely yours as well. Superb finish too!
I've been working on a raygun of my own as well. Really need to get my rear in gear and put some finishing touches on it.

And here's a really skeezy photoshopped sketch of the form factor I'm planning on for my own Grordbordt's de-bovinator build. Sortof a bullpup carbine flava.

One of my literate assistants, Manmoiselle Lucy recently was struck down by the awesome site of the now identified by Dr. B. Aldwin : "Ten-eyed, Three Mouthed Bitodon! We thought them all but extinct!"

Not in the least perturbed, she's taking on the challenge and it would seem she has it eating out of her hand! We may well use this creature for our final experiment. I do hope that the creature has not become a pet.

Don't get me wrong - I really admire Greg Broadmore's talent and design concepts as a whole - but his raygun designs are a bit too "busy" for my tastes, what with all of the random small tubing running all over, and the gauges and whatnot. This is is just my personal opinion, of course.
That being said however, I *will* be "playing along" with this build, since they'll have to look like they would fit right into the Grodbort Universe.

I too tend to like more integrated design aesthetics (that build I posted was way busy for me; I love the machined Al one on your site!) But even though they're not something I would come up with, I find the Grordbort guns are charming in their own right. Charming in a "this will likely blow your hand off" sense.

So I went to Anime Central this weekend, and some of my friends were staying in a hotel room together working on costumes. I don't know if you guys have ever been to a con where people are putting finishing touches on their costumes in the hotel room, but there's a lot of materials and tools laying around. Shears, utility knives, gromet and rivet punches, etc. I noticed an X-Acto precision cutting tool that looked like a pistol grip and I kept thinking "arrrghgghghg I know I've seen this somewhere before! Where have I seen this??"
I honestly thought your raygun in the picture above was something you drew up and fabricated from scratch. I'm even more impressed now that I know it's built from found parts! Everything fits, everything seemingly has a purpose, it's not too busy, it's just right and you managed to hand select the right existing parts from god knows how many possible choices. I would buy a resin kit of this any day.
