Welp, THERE goes Stargate Universe..

i bet SyFy has cancelled more shows than it's actually made.. somehow...

Didn't they give Caprica the chop so this could live?

How the folks at Syfy choose to run things is...puzzling.

But...doesn't SyFy need good Sci Fi at least ONCE in a while?

They changed it from "SCI-FI" when they realised they didn't show any...

Now RASSLIN is their big thing. Makes sense!

Oh and I heard the new Wrestling channel is having a Star Wars marithon through the new year! :angel

Great. More room for excellent movies like "Chihuahuasquid VS Beaverdolphin". :unsure

http://www.deadline.com/2010/12/syfy-cancels-stargate-universe/Friggin' show is actually getting GOOD in it's
Second Season so yeah.. CANCEL IT... :angry

EXACTLY the show is just now starting to develop, the first season was painfully slow and IMO spent way too much time trying to be a soap opera vs what it needs to be an action series with some soap opera drama in the background...

Oh well they will replace it with some other craptacular show that has equal or worse ratings and cancel that as soon as it gets off the ground as well...

Seems TV is always tossing stable rating shows to the curb looking for that 1 in a million hit series...

Not exactly TV's greatest loss. Felt they were clutching at straws with this one from the start!! It was always an almost but not quite! Bring back Firefly!!!!!!!!!

SG:U was the only thing I watched on the channel. Tuesday was a horrible night to move it to, that move guaranteed I had to DVR it or catch it on Hulu. Here's to hoping MGM shops it around to keep it alive (remember it's one of their few active things in production with the bankruptcy going on and one of the franchise they decided not to sell off). If it's gone as a series format, then hopefully they'll pull the major story points they had ironed out and do a 2 hour dvd movie to wrap it up.

SGU was awesome, they really screwed it up canceling it, they have no grounds to make another stargate show, unless they "reboot" the franchise acouple years from now, and I can just see that happening, at will be crap. As for the reason no one knows yet, but if they try to blame it on ratings that's total crap too, they had 1m veriwers, witch is normal for a show like that on a cable network like syfy, now there bringing in crap shows like the being human remake and alphas, WTF?

Rotflmao ^^ figers ayhh frakers it was getting really good

They killed it when they moved it from Friday's to Tuesdays where it would have to compete with shows like NCIS. I just hope that it gets a decent resolution to the story rather than something rushed.

Apparently there are some 8-10 episodes left to be made (or is it aired?), so they COULD conceivably wrap it up.

Frankly, though, this doesn't surprise me. SyFy's been "dead" for a long time, this is just sort of the last twitches as the corpse discharges remaining electrical activity.

I guess the planned BSG prequel series (set during the Cylon wars) is tapped to be their next big thing, and is probably being allocated a large portion of whatever budget ISN'T going into making Roger Corman style movies.

Nope, NO RESOLUTION !!!! :angry

It was over on Sci -Fi's { whatever !!!! } Boards that the Finale
would be a friggin' cliffhanger... :angry

My bet is their hoping for a movie which of course will
never materialize... They killed any more SG and SGA movies
so no doubt they won't bother with a SGU movie to tie things up...

And as for Blood and Chrome unless they get their HUGE numbers
they say they want B&C won't be back.. Remember, it's only going
to be either a MOVIE or a 2 part " CINEMA EVENT " as they call
it now.... NOT a series !

:confused

I " got " their logic of nuking Caprica as the ratings sucked
and they wanted to dump their efforts { and money } into B&C
but then to nuke SGU too ? ONLY way that will make sense is
IF they announce next year they are going straight to SERIES
with B&C !

And I got 5 bucks that says NO ! :lol

Just caught up with this news....being a big SG fan, it's saddening to hear of another cancellation. Sure, SGU was different to the previous incarnations but it was certainly growing on me and had great potential......why don't they give these type of series chance to grow??
