Hello Everyone,
First time posting here. This was a recent commission I finished up on, and wanted to show it here. I'm glad registration opened up so I can comment on alot of things I've seen here that blows my mind, as well as share things I'm working on as well.
The machine body itself is fiberglass from a silicone mold, and the various pieces are urethane resin from silicone molds. I've made this all from scratch, which includes all the little things, sanding, molding etc. Labor extensive.
The main large window will be an LCD monitor, and on the center of the eye mech where the LED goes, will be will be a mini cam. the electronics will be installed at the hands of the client who commissioned this piece from me though. The center in the eye mech now is just something I threw together to have something there when showing the completed machine.
The bellows were to be 4 cast pieces of vac-formed identical shapes put together like stacking cups as the original film was, but instead has a rubber bottom underneath the first top bellow. I like the design and concept better on the movie version myself.
Also, there will be various LEDS and lights put in, mainly the VU meter at the top of the main screen. The VU meter is the green to red sound light as used in steroes, like in the film. Currently there is just a piece of red filler, once again for picture aesthetic.
The 3 white squares up front are also filler pieces, they will be replaced by lighted LED bushbuttons.
I'm going to take a quick minute long movie of this later on to get a 360 feel, and show the arm raising etc. All movements are manual at this stage, it will be rigged to move in the hands of the client.
Thank you for looking,
Tyler
