Vader Costumers!

Don't know if this would be of use, but Dave Prowse was on one of those shopping channels one evening during a star wars night. He mentioned that during filming, it was noticed that the lenses were so transparent that when the lights were shone, you could see his eyes. They Thickened the lenses in order to couteract this to the point he could hardly see. Though he did not state what color they were.

I know most everyone is talking about the ANH lenses, but there's something i've always wondered about the ESB/ROTJ ones. Why do they sometimes appear to be green in color? I've noticed this in pics of ESB and ROTJ helmets, as well as, the ROTJ reveal helmet.

Hmm... I'm not much of a color expert when it comes to pictures, but I do know that for instance grey can appear to have a green tint on pictures and black can appear greyish... especially pictures taken with older analog cameras. Hope someone with more knowledge in this area can chime in with a more indepth explanation.

That might possibly be down to photographic print quality, who knows? I often find magazine images notoriously bad for colour reference and have even seen the *exact same photo* with completely different colour hues in two copies of *the same issue*.. .. Proably because these things are churned out so cheaply. Good, quality books are much better.

.. I've not seen it with "with my own eyes" (yet) but the Jedi Vader Reveal prop seems to have almost completly transparent pale yellow eye lenses, darkened with a fine mesh painted black behind. The other ESB/ROTJ helmets are generally believed to have amber/brown lenses, they certainly look that way to me..
