My 3mm chrome bezels finally came in today, so I had a chance to mock up the placement and generally see how they will fit. I think it will really add to the over all look of the front. I wiil be putting white 3mm LEDs in them as well.
I also added some internal magnets to the disc and "stuck" it to the back of the work bench. It really adds to the room :

So I got all my deluxe discs now. I have five total. I have two young kids, who took one Sam and one Rinzler, so I'm left with a Kevin, Sam and Rinzler to myself.
But now I have to figure out how to mod one of them. I want it to have same results as this one (propmaster2000's):

But I do know that propmaster2000 made his own circuit boards etc...
Anyways, I know alot of the pertinent info won't be readily shared publicly, but if someone can offer assistance/info to get mine to a level as seen above, or can provide all components to make it happen, please PM me! :thumbsup
I'd like mine to have more LEDs to brighten it, and to also sequence as movie accurate as possible. (maybe with another option that can set C ring to stay lit)

I was going to send you a PM, but don't see that option. More specific questions to you, as the setup of your disc is what I want to replicate for mine. Am curious if you'd put together a kit/set of components involved to make the disc light up and sequence just like yours, for purchase?
Basically, I can solder and put things together, that's not an issue. I walked into a local electronics parts supplier today, and couldn't even find proper components. And am not knowledgeable enough for the sequencing circuitry.
Not sure if costs of components as a whole would be worth saving me some headaches, or I just add more LEDs to the current toy circuit (which I know probably won't work right)

The toys are not the same size as the males disc (CLU, Sam, Flynn and Rin). Those are larger. It is good for Quorra size. She did have a HERO lager size one in a few shots.
If you could make the larger hero versions I would think the room on those would be very helpful 8]

Thanks, sorry, my apologies. My plan is to make mine functional as your initial one, and either I'm being lazy or hoping to find some form of instructions on piecing it together. I need to make my shopping list, and see if the local electronics place has the right LEDs.
May just try the Netduino mini route.
The Netduino mini needs a circuit board though, regular Netduino may be too large for the disc, I'm looking at this as an option for a microcontroller:

You might also want to consider this guy from TI, complete with USB-stick dev kit for $20. I've just started toying with mine.Thanks, sorry, my apologies. The shift register idea would be time consuming to implement but not overly complex as there is a repetitive pattern to the circuit as noted in the link I provided above.
