Here is my modified Sam Flynn disc
. Hope you like it!
Looked at it, very nice!
That's the thing about an electronics package kit, the hobbiest can put it in anything they wish, if they have the skills....
The TRON disc is just what my kit will be designed for specifically and electronics of this type are never really cheap.
There are LED strips now that can light up a disc very well. I have used them myself. But, there is no basic animation of the LEDs.
That's what the added elecTRONics and internal modifications are for.
As they say, (for me) time is money when it comes to design and developement. I don't have allot of free time to put toward developement. I have plenty of work on my bench which takes priority.
For a hobbiest, they have plenty of free time to work on projects with no obligation to get it done.
I too would be interested in finding out if someone has developed a cheeper way which looks and functions as well....(and not have to learn a new programming language).
For me, $100 would just cover the "E" components only and not cover the developemental labor to put those parts to proper use.
In the mean time, until I get back to my little project, this guy and his team seem to have a pretty good handle on the TRON Disc mod with his microcontroled, animated electronics kit:
