So much information in all these pages!!! My mind . . . it burnnssss.
I ordered my first package of EL wire yesterday to fix up my Kevin Flynn disc for my Siren costume. Super, super excited!! However, I plan on working with EL tape for the actual Siren suit. I'm paranoid about getting the tape right. Anyway, I was wondering, not to sound gross, but how is everyone getting in and out of their suits to use the restroom? I plan on using my costume at SDCC next year and I'm concerned what I'm going to do when I need to pee. I'd hate to break any EL . . . :sick
That's an excellent idea. For my (much simpler) flashback Flynn jacket, I used some two-pin connectors to allow me to disconnect wiring in the future. Those connectors can be quite small, so they could easily be tucked away out of sight on a siren costume.Hi HQuin
I made my costume modular so I could disconnect any linked areas that I might need to over stretch at any point. Both my wife and myself were very glad we did that, my only mistake was making them on the back of the costume as we discovered to our eventual amusement that we had to disconnect each other as we couldn't do it ourselves. my advice is to hide them the side of the costume if you can.
For each strip of EL tape, I placed a male/female connector pair in the wires running from the power supply to the tape. That way, I could disconnect and take everything apart easily (especially as I attached my EL tape strips with Velcro). You could also make extensions as needed, too. Thanks for your opinions!!! So its basically just extensions? The extra two-pin connectors?
Hello everyone! I'm fairly new to these forums but I've been lurking for a long while now. I'm looking to complete stage one of my costume; modding a tron disc. I've already got the disc and have ordered some EL wire and magnets. I'm looking for some tiny inverters that have the el wire 'quick connect' attachments. Of course it has to be small enough to fit within the disc which has made searching a real pain. The one from coolights adds $40 in shipping to Canada and therefore isn't an option. Can anyone recommend another website?

I apologize if this has been answered before, but what kind of adhesive are you guys using to attatch the foam sheets to the fabric?
