Tron Legacy Costume

My gloves are actually attached to the entire arm. I have the HEX print on my shoulder area and then right above my elbow to and including my hands I sewed a 4-way stretch black matte vinyl which has a latex leather like appear.

That stuff was pricey a yard but I was so excited when I found it and went ahead and got it any way. :)

Thanks for the reply, Annisse!~

Where did you get your 4-way stretch black matte vinyl from, did you purchase it online? :)

Hey I'm looking to have a costume ready for comic con in the fall and I have atleast two costumes to do and I was wondering if you fellow enthusiasts have any pointers for me, I'm going a Sam Flynn costume and a quorra costume too, and I might also mod my own disks so any and all help is accepted and appreciated

I'm making one but its not any general character, its gonna have bits and pieces of certain ones (like the polearm guard chest piece), but then different for other parts :D

Downtown, LA Garment district.

For thos eof us not in LA ;) (*cry*, Garment and Fabric districts don't exist here) You can also get 4 way matte from:
Welcome to Spandex House Inc.
(page three for me but a search for "Stretch matte finish vinyl" without quotes will bring it up)

There is four way black and white on there, you can order swatches. I haven't tried it myself so can't say what the full properties are.

The colour will look a little charcoal rather than deep black, so a spray with silicon oil will help a bit. It won't make it super shiny but it does bring out a bit more colour. I found this to be true with my matte textured latex covered fabric and cast latex.

I am trying diffuse red EL wire for my Tron battlegrid program costume, striking a lot of problems, I tried Eddie's method but it didn't really do much at all, any suggestions, if I can't I'll have to modify and make it a more wired look than a panel look :( tomorrow I am going to try an put the wire against a red background instead of white and see what happens but please feel free to advise.

Red Foil Tape perhaps? I found that Red ELWire really is dim when diffused, hence why I did not use it in my final (first) build.

Try red, brake light (tail light lense) repair tape from an automotive parts store. It is transparent and it diffuses the light.

Red cellophane used to wrap gift baskets is another option. I used it to diffuse the blueness of the visor on my Stig helmet I made for Halloween and it worked pretty well. I found it at the dollar store, though since it's coming up on Valentines day there's tons of boxes of candy that are wrapped in the stuff as well.
