think ima do a carving out of foam for one half (including grooves for el wire, vacuum form it twice, fix up the EL wire, then glue it together.
Any feedback?
This is just my first attempt. Once this one goes down (hopefully correctly!) i am going to proceed to make a more detailed version

Uh uh!

If there any of Rinzler, please please!!
Thanks!!

My scanner is about dead, so I took some pictures of the book. So sorry about the quality. I'll try to get better ones as soon as possible. But you can see the detail on Clu's robe.

I think it might be the same on Sam's suit, but I can't tell for sure on the photos I looked at.

ETA: If you want a picture of any of the characters, I'll look for it in the book. I know that there are a number of pictures for Sam, Quorra, the Sirens, and Clu.

Wow, you'd think they would of had those look a lot less rushed? Looking at Clu's robe, it looks like they just slapped it on and didn't care if it waved up or not. Even on Sams, you can see all sorts of waviness to it. And here I was worried that when I started mine, about it looking perfect. :lol

Glad to see such imperfections like this that may 'slip sometimes'. Just goes to show that NO ONE/THING is 'perfect'. If anyone wants 'perfection', maybe they should just get themselves a 'Codified Lifeform Utility' or in this case: a 'Codified Costume Utility', but since there's NO SUCH THING as both and '100% perfection' in anything, gotta deal with it. :p

As quoted from artist Chris Glenn:

Many people ask 'why everything is black and blue?'. Well, the Tron world has a very specific and limited color palette that we had to adhere to. For example, there is no red in the world. Ever.

What, no 'Red' in the new world of TRON? Well, that's gonna CHANGE in my creative perspective-mind.;) I LOVE the diversity of the suits here SSSSOOO MUCH that I'm gonna learn to make VARIOUS BODY ARMOR types for various EL Wire colors patterns....I'm gonna try to TAKE THIS SO BEYOND typical 'TRON:Legacy' images now. *Glad now that mishap of previous suit became it was!* :D

Not sure if this was posted yet, unless I missed it, thnx Costumer for the link: art of chris glenn

Nice link. Also no red...crap. I was going to use red as a flashback to the colors of the original Tron. Well I guess I'll settle for that orange.

I am just glad that, as far as lighting goes, there is no wrong for too much or too little lighting. I.e Tron has barely any lighting. I am just contimplating what to use for the hard pieces, I may have some left over Stormtrooper armor parts...

I am due to receive my Lighttape in the mail today! I'm still tweaking the pattern of the Flynn/Clu jacket so I don't have much to show yet. That and I was waiting for the tape to know exactly how wide and flexible it is.

For all those that have used lighttape in their costumes does velcro seem the best way to attach it? I have some other ideas but I'm not going to reinvent the wheel if there is a better way.

I just got mine (2) 1.25x12" strips) from Glowhut and it's salmon color when off. I didn't even inquire before I ordered. I'm going to try some frosted vinyl film on top or better yet, some black scrim since it will be off 80% of the time.
The jacket is a Perry Ellis I picked up at Macy's for $50. Not leather, but I like the look. As a bonus, It has a zip in hoodie if I feel like Sam instead of Kevin. LOL

Nice jacket. I like the material too. Since it's been raining so much around here lately (socal) I decided to go with a raincoat type material however I may go the pleather route later. I had the idea to make a sort of pocket out of clear plastic and slip the lighttape inside. I picked up a clear plastic shower curtain from target for $5 that should do the trick nicely.

Are you putting the battery connection near the bottom or top of the jacket? I'm thinking top so I can avoid any sharp folds in the wiring.

I like the clear pocket idea, except I would probably use a frosted one. I don't like velcro since it is thick and shows a fuzzy edge and tends to bunch and wrinkle when you bend it.
There are 2 strips which I will tape together at the center where the connectors are, and run the wires downward. There just happens to have a "cell phone" pocket at the bottom inside lining which is perfect for the inverter and 9v battery. I'm not concerned with bending of wire since it's durable, but the connectors at the EL tape migh get damaged if I lean onto the edge of a table.

i just happen to find this bike... the only thing missing it the light wall.
