Tron Legacy Costume

Someone mistook you for robocop? :lol Some really drunk guy asked me if I was dressed up as Batman's wife. Most people recognized that I was from Tron, though.

Love seeing all the costumes! I'm so envious of those of you who have yours lit up!

Never did batman's wife look so good :love

Maybe he didn't know how to express himself... :lol

Someone else, in another place, screamed "there's the guy from transformers"...

The nerve on some people :confused

Great costumes, guys!

My internet's been down for a while from the snowstorm, but I should have some pics up soon. Most of the pics taken at the Halloween party I attended were done with flash though, so I may have to take some fresh ones.

Alright I'll participate ;)

Here's my Flynn Flashback type costume - basically copied a lot of others here. I think I posted my tron disc mod in that separate thread, so you can get an idea of how I wired everything up using the flexible SMD LED strips.

Thanks to everyone else here - the ingenious mods and wealth of information is awesome (albeit a tad staggering)

What do you guys think of this. It's my first attempt at a tron costume and my first time to ever work with el tape or wire. Also the Helmet is peped and fiberglassed, my first time working with either of those materials as well.

I can't seem to link my pictures. Can anyone help me out?

There are two options. Above the area where you type the message there is an icon for "Insert Image" and one for "Attachments"

"Insert Image" is third from the right on the bottom row of icons. "Attachments" is third from the right on the top row of icons.

If you mouse over the icons and give it a second, you will get a tooltip describing the function of the icon.

Hope this helps.

Ok Here we go. I think I got it. This is my first attempt with el tape and wire. I made the tron anon pep helmet and fiberglassed it. first time using either of those things as well. Tell me what you guys think. This is my C.L.U. 2.2. The disk is also a pep file with el wire around it. The biggest problem is where I had to take the pictures you cannot clearly see the el tape on the back of my calves. I think in the 2nd to last picture you can Kind of see them poking into the frame a bit. That's what I get for living by myself though lol.

Got myself back on the grid last night. Lost a costume contest to a dude dressed as Aladdin. His setup was pretty cool. He was on a magic carpet with fake legs crossed in front of him as if he was sitting Indian style, but he was actually standing up. His real legs were concealed by a drape around the rug which was at about his waist. He had a big prop of the a skyline of Persian temples behind him and a girl dressed as belly dancer or something accompanying him.

Funny thing is everyone at the bar kept telling me that my costume was the best one there. Contests are so arbitrary. There was only a first prize and it was a trip to Vegas. I kinda think the winner knew people that worked at the bar that did the judging. They just announced the winner without there being any crowd selection.

Either way, was great to get back on the grid for another night.

Can't wait to start working on the pants and arms for this suit and perhaps Version 2.0 that will use EL wire (diffusion method).

Had a lot of fun with my girls this Halloween. They love getting dressed up, so much so that they've been wearing their costumes for the better part of the last two weeks. :lol

I put on our Rinzler Biker suit...with very annoying contacts but, it was cool none the less. :thumbsup

We were worried that they'd be scared once they saw me with the contacts in...but, instead of getting freaked out...they said "Wow Daddy your eyes are so COOL!"

Yes, they're my kids. :lol

This was from the Saturday night Silver Snail Halloween Party...I had a lot more make up going on there, but I didn't feel like doing that all over again last night. Very cool night, and my brother was in his Sam Flynn suit.:cool

DAVIDYR1,
That Rinzler suit is soo sick. It's really tempting and I can't wait to see more when they go on sale.
Great pics with the kids!

Eveningarwen,
The Siren is coming out great and Castor...well, "LIBATIONS FOR EVERYBODYYYYY!"

Here is how my costume turned out... Thanks to everyone for their help!

16AA's lasted three nights of going out...

My hardest part is/was getting the hub to stick to the back of the costume. How is everyone doing that?

Thanks!!

r2tincan,

I mounted my hub with four 3/4" x 1/8" rare earth magnets in mounting cups, then another four magnets on the inside of the garment. That was enough to hold it onto my leather coat.
