Treadwell Droid Build

It has been a little while since my last update. I have been traveling a lot for work, so haven't had much time to work on Treadwell. I was able to get servo signal boosters to see if that would fix the problem.

I now have a dedicated side for all of the servo connections. In addition to the boosters I also got two servo extenders to adjust how far the arm and claw move.

It may look like a tangle of wires and parts, but it is actually two receivers, four servo signal boosters and two servo extenders.

I am getting reliable service as long as I can keep the up and down neck movement in a neutral position. Seems when the servo is applying power it starts to sap power from the others. Eventually causing all of the other servos to stop working. Once the servo is returned to a neutral position and I wait a moment then everything works great again.

Today I will work on sounds for him and he will then be ready for Wondercon.

Here he is all closed up, later I will post more finished shots as well as video.

Thanks Spacebob, I am wrapping up some sound files and will hopefully have a video very shortly.

If anyone is interested, I will be at Wondercon this year with the droid. So if you are going, be sure to check him out in person. We will be at either the R2 Builders booth or wandering about.

Hi guys, someone recently asked for the 3D neck model I created. So I made it available on ShapeWays for free, well you have to pay them to print it. If anyone would like my original files or the STL file just let me know. Otherwise go to the ShapeWays website and search Treadwell and you will find the two models I created. The "Treadwell Neck 3" is what I used for my build.

Damn you Paul! Why'd you have to put a link to this thread in your signature?!?!

just put my request in for the yahoo group.,,, I guess this is happening

If you guys dont hear back from group, I would just reach out to Paul via IM here or on astromech site. :). I havent spoken with him in a while "Hi, Paul!" but he is good with comms.

I love this droid.

It is not my fault! The Treadwell Builders Group has been silent for years, but I can help.

Such a fine build Paul! You have inspired me to build one myself. :)

Greedo, good luck with the Yahoo Group (https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/treadwellbuilders/info) I have been trying to register with them since late last year but I think they are no longer managed. I have, however, found some of the files/plans have been transferred to here: http://rebeldroids.net/forum/

Smiles, Izzy

Thanks so much Chickmacgyver, I have most everything from the group saved and there is good stuff at Rebeldroids.net. I also will email you the neck file tonight for you.

Thanks Luke, all is well.

That is reassuring to know that we are not missing out not being on the Yahoo Group because it has fallen silent.

Thank you for the neck file Paul! Much appreciated. :)

I have to ask .... what are these neck files?

Something that isn´t stored on Rebeldroids? If yes, may i have them send to me, too?
