I've created a droid restraining bolt on my mini lathe. I used aluminum round stock, a bolt and a threaded magnet on the back. Airbrushed black.
The mini lathe did struggle with some maneuvers but it got the job done in the end.
I had to learn trepanning (not brain surgery, the lathe kind) to make this "cut" and also create my own tool.
This was not easy and I lost the grip once, hence some "bite marks on the back side.
