TOS Saurian Brandy bottle mod

The stopper should be quite easy to fabricate. It's just a truncated cone with a cork glued to it.

yeah, but my woodworking skills are minimal at best for small stuff. Like I said though, I have the wooden top, just need to redo the cork.

Here is the bottle painted with the Autumn Red Acrylic I got at Micheal's.

I have to redo the leather string and find a decent cork yet.

Also, even though they used a strip of masking tape on the TOS prop, I'm not 100% sold on that yet. I may end up with a very thin leather strip glued down there... still debating. Any opinions on that point?

I've seen a few of the lighter amber bottles, but they usually go for a few hundred. The cork should be easy to find. As for the wooden stopper, I'd have thought twice about buying the bottle without it.

3rd coat is almost dry!

A few hundred?! Suddenly I'm looking at the one I have yet to customise and seeing it in a new light.

here's the TOS prop on the left, and mine on the right. I think my tape is too wrinkled. I'm very pleased with the color, however.

Try Lowes or Home Depot for corks. Look on the hardware aisle in the specialty fastener drawers. I've gotten them there for a couple of different things. They have sizes from really small to bigger than you should need.

I usually can find a good cork replacment at Ace hardware in the drawers where they have screwa and nuts and household hardware. Take your bottle so you can find the correct one. Might be 25 cents.

One thing to remember. Film stock always makes things look redder than they really are. The actual color of the leather might have been no dye at all.
