Okay...another one.... I also post this in hesitation; my skills do not match the amazing stuff that comes out of this group. I almost feel foolish posting something I put together here. I do not consider myself a prop maker by any stretch. I am a weekend tinkerer and hobbyist and enjoy the process of making things. I like to work on things as an outlet to work and the busyness of life.

"What did you expect? Pumpkin Juice?"

This was a model I commissioned several years ago. I recently decided to take it out of retirement from my hard drive and started tweaking some it. The finished product turned out better than I expected. For some reason, I have always loved this prop and it is a pretty simple build now I have the printing process down. I figured I would put out an interest here. I feel like this really captures the look you see on screen and also the bottles that you see at Univeral Studios.

I want to gauge interest on a potential limited run:

Option #1 - (Kit) Skele-Gro Bottle
  • Assembled/glued two-piece bottle, skull, labels (sanded and primed)
Option #2 - (Finished) Skele-Gro Bottle

Please reply to this thread to express your interest. If we have enough, I will turn this into a limited run.

I print this in two parts; the top part is resin to perserve the details, and the bottom piece is PLA. The pieces are pinned together with metal rods and glued together. I have printed full bottles out of resin, but it isn't my favorite thing to do. I like the two-piece bottle because it is easier to print and would also allow an internal bottle if someone wanted (the skull is resin printed as well). The labels were designed by me in Adobe Illustrator and were designed to match the screen-used prop.

The illustration placard of the bottle is from Mina Lima Designs that I printed up.

New member here. Curious as to what your anticipated price would be for both options? Excellent work!

Update:

Since the initial post, there wasn't a lot of traction on this prop. I have a few of these that are ready for paint/weathering/finishing that I might just throw on the Junkyard. As of right now, I probably won't expend a lot of energy after finishing those few since there wasn't a ton of interest here. A finished bottle will probably be around $150 - I don't have plans to put together kits unless the interest really increased. Once I get closer with the few that I was going to finish, I will post here before I throw them on the Junkyard.

And yes... to answer the question that was asked a few posts back; the bottle has a spine. This is a very accurate model to the prop version and the bottles you see in the windows at Universal Studios Florida.

Would it be possible to purchase an unfinished one or even a raw print? (I’d like to paint and finish it myself.)
