Tom Clancy's The Division (original character build)

Ayy, you have a point. Apologies. Thanks for the corrections. But me being the buyf** I am who spends nearly $1000 on worthless otaku junk from Yahoo Auctions, my loadout has to be ready and versatile for any sort of situation out in hostile New York.

Yes, I'm the practical type. If I'm in a firefight, I'd like to whip out my nades as soon as possible and sneak in the shadows with my pointless viper hood that only works in vegetation. Either ways, I'm loosely mimicking the the multicam guy in this DLC pic: http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/s...e8ae555e56f1efcd24.1920x1080.jpg?t=1457711577

That being said, I find it unrealistic how just wearing a sweater on top passes as a solid The Division cosplay. But hey, that's just my opinion.

Atop of all that Awesomeness has said, you also have to keep in mind that many of us are making original characters, not just applying the look from the game to our cosplay. Yes, many are still taking that approach, but my cosplay for example was either the 2nd or 3rd to exist (we're not sure if I started mine first, or DB Dave over in Australia did...kind of a coin toss there), and we only had one video clip and a lot of concept art to work off. Also, in regards to mine, I'm basing it on what I would wear considering the area I live in; i.e.: Southern California. If I were to dress like a NY Division agent, I'd kill over from heat fatigue easily.

It's all a matter of preference. You need to "look the part," but also keep from going the route of "tacticool."

It's a balancing act. That's why some of us have been working on our V.2 cosplays; you gotta upgrade your gear set every so often, after all. ;)

...
Also, can OP send me the graphics for the watch? Please?

Shoot me a PM with your email and I'll send it soon as I get a chance.

Again, though, do keep in mind that it's not anywhere near "game accurate," as it was made when there was barely anything known about the game save the initial gameplay footage.

Hey guys!

Just made my account on the RPF because of this post. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!

Had to adjust Cosplans for PAX East next month, and I've been playing a lot of Division, so here I am.

I was wondering if any of you guys were planning on being at PAX East? Maybe getting a group together? I just started laying out my gear and seeing what I can do. I'll post picks of my progress as I go :)

Thanks guys!

Scotty

Sorry to say it, ZombieJoe, but it looks like you're gonna be running solo(ish) at Wondercon this year. I'm sure there will be others cosplaying this time around, so you'll probably be able to still meet up with some other people; I just won't get to be there. :(

Production of the second episode for the webseries is this weekend, and it's pretty much drained by account. I won't get paid again until that first day of the con. :/

For sure, though I'll be attending Comikaze in October, along with co-everything on the webseries and possibly his younger brother (who is the ******* that asked a simple question about cosplaying as agents that started this whole mess! :p ). So if you attend that one, we'll for sure group up.

Other than that, just represent the SHD like I know you will, buddy! :D

Just finished cleaning this up for use if anyone is interested in using it for their armbands. I ordered a couple from the mutiny shop at 3.5" diameter, full color PVC with the glow in the dark feature. Anyone looking for the armband pattern send a pm with your email and I'll forward the pdf.

Just curious, did you ever get these successfully? A year or two ago I ordered some stuff from them, and it was a nightmare. It took 6 weeks for them to get me my order, and for the final few weeks of it I had resorted to calling and emailing several times a day. Then, it turned out they actually sent me someone else's order (poor soul), after which it took several more weeks to finally get my own. After scouring the internet, it turned out there were many posts around about the poor service from them... I should have done that first, I guess.

Their patches are fairly unique. What I learned from tidbits the girl posted on very forums (usually trying to rebut people flaming her) was that she uses dye sublimation printing on a textured banner material. The velcro is glued on and trimmed by hand.

I did, finally... But they were very poor quality and you can definitely tell they were trimmed by hand, completely uneven, etc. I would like to see about having some silicone ones printed up, but the cost looks to be pretty high.

I received the collectors/sleeper agent edition and the armband pouch thing is a bit disappointing with its glossy plastic... But the watch, now that's the goods!

PVC patches don't really "cost a lot", you just have to order a lot of them at once, because they have to machine a $150-300 mold to make them. If we could start up a group-buy, we could get it done. For example, if 20 of us each paid $25 total to get 2-3 patches, that would get it done. I'd be willing to entertain taking this task on, if people are interested.

I had the same thoughts about the collector's armband. It didn't look right to me, even in the initial advertisement photos. It's sad when they do that, because they were spending the money to make them anyways, why not go ahead and make them accurate? Same goes for the real clothing and backpack Ubisoft is selling.

Ok guys, times winding down to WonderCon!!! Anyone else going? And if so, maybe we can meet up, would be a great experience for me since this is my first time acually trying a cosplay, and it's an easy one! Great for beginners In my opinion.

See unfortunate post 265 :(

sadly after this one I'll be in Okinawa, Japan for 3 years, but I'll be sure to cosplay enough for all the SHD agents out there!

I would be in for a commitment on silicone patches if you took on the lead;)

Heyy, ZombieJoe what day will you be going I'm planning on all three days but I'm not sure which day to where my Agent Cosplay we should totally meet up.

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone is producing the comm unit, or know of where I could get one. Im having a hard time finding a 3d print place in my area. Thanks!

Actually, I think I might be able to do Sunday (but only Sunday). If you plan to attend the whole time and will be there that day, let me know and I'll make it happen. :)

I'm totally ready to gear up with any fellow Agents that day if you know you'll be there Sunday as well...

All good! Not many people are building their own characters, so it's cool to see someone out there doing it from scratch.

Hopefully at some point we do! This info is now vital to how we do the smart watches from now on (it's a lot slicker than our original strategy; buy a watch, stick EL wire in it. now we just print them with my printer) haha.

If you'd like, I can refer you to my friend who designed the 3D model that we use for it for reference? It's a little different than the actual model (due to not a lot of room for electronics) but I'm happy to help you out with it if you'd like! Ours turned out great, bar the lack of adequate LED lighting inside.

Can i please get the info? Also looking into this item.

[mini] Update #12: COMMS DEVICE TEST PRINT!!! (Best update so far!)

Just got this pic sent over from the buddy in Australia who's doing the 3D printing for the comms device. It is looking friggin' beautiful! And it's only the first test print! :D

Can't wait for how the final product comes out and being able to see it in the flesh....er, in the plastic. ^_^*

Hi, could you point me in the direction of someone who can make one of these for me? Thanks!

I have one of the printed comm units from the Aussie folks, ordered it from Shapeways a few weeks back, really nice piece;)

Did you try https://www.makexyz.com or http://shapeways.com ?

I'm going to be making molds and resin castings of mine soon (mostly because I need several more for my "squad", and don't want to print and sand them all, but I can make some extras to help pay for the molds).

Found it on makexyz, not on the other. Ill keep looking, that one seems a bit bulky, compared to the game one
