Tom Clancy's The Division (original character build)

CptIns8n087: that holster is just about perfect! where did you get it? and which pistol do you have in it?

His looks close to the holster I posted in Post#102 for my V.2 of my cosplay. Found it on eBay for a decent price, but can't recall the exact name of it. Just look up "leg drop holster" for whatever pistol you plan to use. Mine is specifically molded for a Glock 17. His definitely looks different, as well as being for a left-handed draw.

And I too want to know what pistol that is! I have an idea, but want to be sure (it looks sweet in the holster! ;) )

I think i found the holster on amazon, one molded for a 1911 which is what i plan to use for my division sidearm at NYCC, I also heard back from my buddy who's making me a prop Caduceus for the con, I'm slowly piecing together my cosplay and i've got plenty of ideas, i'm just having a lot of trouble trying to nail down a good DZ Loot bag

NICE! And excellent choice of sidearm.

Definitely post pics when your friend is done with the Caduceus is done! That thing is gonna look sweeeet! :D

image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegHere's my progress on the comm brick, I think it's going ok.

I would very much like a copy of the graphic if you don't mind...
Just sent you the email, ZombieJoe! :D

Let me know if there's anything else I can help out with.

Also, what part of CA are you from? (meant to ask in the email, but sent it before I could add the question)

Basic Division Go-Bag. Maxpedition Sitka S-Type Gears longer with the Monkey Admin Pouch as the Med kit. Work in progress, but do you guys have any ideas as to what I could add? Thanks for the feedback agents.uploadfromtaptalk1457217314976.jpguploadfromtaptalk1457217326471.jpguploadfromtaptalk1457217335823.jpg

I think it is looking GOOD. Here's my suggestions:

1) Attach the mask on top of the pouch on the left side. In the 2013 and 2014 videos, the mask was kept on top in the back, but we've since seen that now the mask is stowed down at the base of the shoulder strap, on the left side of the agent, where it is easily accessible.
2) Put a water bottle of some kind on the back. You have a great water bottle pouch right there, but I might use that to help stow a secondary weapon if its short enough to fit.
3) Maybe strap a hammer, prybar, or hatchet or something on there?
4) Glowsticks are good, a flashlight might be good, but take care not to clutter up your pack too much.

Thank man, I appreciate it. I actually have a Maglite that be attached to the molle on the shoulder strap. Do you think a machete would work well in the water bottle holder? I have a parang and I'm just not sure if it would have the right agent "look".

HELL YEAH! You have almost the EXACT same gearsling that I have (literally; the only difference is that mine is the version with a lefty strap).

I definitely agree with what Matt said about the glowsticks, and the potential of using the water bottle pouch for something else (I still use mine for a water bottle, though).

I wouldn't worry too much about trying to be game-accurate with regards to the position of your respirator, though. Mine I keep in a buttpack that rests essentially beneath the pack but attached to my utility belt (it'll be hidden when a loot-bag is hanging, though). So long as you're able to reach it comfortably, you should be good.

Another thing to consider (which I'm planning on adding to my Ver.2 soon as I can get my hands on one) is some sort of Rope Ascender. We've seen that all agents have one as part of their gear now since the Alpha/Beta screenshots and videos came out.

You're definitely off to a solid start, buddy! Keep it up! :D

Thanks man and why do think I got the same one. [emoji6] . Within the week, I do plan on getting the glow sticks and rope ascender. Like you said one thing I do notice is that both alpha and beta versions have the rope ascender. For realistic uses, I'm probably gonna get some black paracord and have it hanging for the side of the bag closest to the bottom of the strap. My 2 "biggest" projects are the smart watch and com unit for the shoulder strap.

Are there certain restrictions for the con you're going to because I know for the most part they even if it's an airsoft gun, most cons will allow them.

Prone311 is right, ZombieJoe. Most cons allow airsoft guns. You just need to make sure that the orange tip is clearly visible, and that there are no BBs loaded into it. I also make sure to not have any of the batteries in those I have that use them. There's a "Weapons Check" desk at most cons. If you go up to it with all your arsenal broken down (as in, all magazines out so they can check those, too) you'll usually get in with them just fine. It's a pain and the more you carry the longer it can take, but if it's an option and it helps you complete the cosplay, it's worth it.

A couple years back when I first had the cosplay put together at WonderCon, I was literally the only person dressed from the game. I'm sure you'll be able to find a whole group to walk about with, and they'll likely have their weapons loadout with them.

No, it's not a CON, I'm goingi to the release of The Division with a friend. I'm looking for a CON to go to in California, but I'll be stationed in Japan in April so I might not have time :/. Also here is a almost finished Communicator!!image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg

Good ol EVA foam.

AH! Okay, that makes more sense. A friend of mine was asking me if I was going to go after work in-costume to pick up my copy. Opted out of doing so because A) would be better suited for going to a midnight release, B) same as you, I feel without the full loadout it doesn't feel "authentic", and C) don't want to carry all that crap with me at work. ;)

Be safe on your deployment.

You'll likely miss out on WonderCon (it's Easter weekend), but if you're down in SoCal, there's always things like Long Beach ComiCon or Comikaze later in October to go to.

You end up able to go to either of those, hit me up and I'll make sure to gear up and meet up with you. :)

Awesome! :D

Going that last year was my first time doing any sort of cosplay myself; it's pretty exciting. Keep me posted, and if all works out we'll figure out a time and place to meet up (though I know I'll be at work on the 25th until mid-afternoon, so I likely won't attend until the Saturday of that weekend, the 26th).

If you and your wife have the time, maybe get her to gear up as an agent as well? Could be a fun experience for her, too. :)
