Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

Anyone get a good photo of the MH kilt pin? It is generally worn down by the right knee area.

The Battle-Hatter costume is on display at FIDM.
Photos are not allowed, so I'm afraid getting an up close image of the kilt pin from the costume directly would be naughty (but maybe not impossible).
The image I didn't take of the costume-because that wouldn't be allowed-is a wide image and it looks like the costume coat may be covering the pin :(

I'll check the Visual Companion for images, but don't remember there being a photo of the pin :(

No luck with an image of the kilt pin in the Visual Companion-sorry :(

I'll be back at FIDM on Wednesday and will try and get confirmation if the pin is visible or not.

Yeah! I don't understand why FIDM doesn't allow photgraphs. I took many pics at the El Cap but completely missed the Battle Gear costume display. I guess this means a pencil and sketch pad!!!

You can see the kilt pin here but it is too small to make out what it is. It may just be a standard sword pin that is common.

Also this image confirms that there are 10 buttons on the red vest. They also appear to be 3/4 inch size relative to all the other items around it.

Glad to hear you agree with me :)

I don't think that's a kilt pin, just a tear/wrinkle in the fabric.

I don't think he ever had one. But he sure needs one.

i looked into there being a kilt pin
i really dont think there is

but i dont see why you cant let your artistic mind run wiled for that ^^

ah...darn....10 buttons
ah well
the tie covers the top so youll never know
besides, my top 2 buttons are kind of cool
they dont match the rest but the design has something to do with the book

im not saying anything till its done though

Hey Padawan..
I'd go with Fatals advice..
I used some asian hanging thingies i found in downtown
LA theyre antique brass with asian characters on it.
but i'm
liking Fatals advice and may change to those for
the horsehair.

Hey Charles...
Sorry Mate there is NO KILT PIN on his kilt.

you know Richard i think i will

i have some for sculpting
and im thinking if i took a dremmel to them i might be able to cut the bottom to have the edge his have, then with some fancy spray paining i can get the color

then for the Sporran i think i want to try this Sintra stuff
it apparently gets very pliable when youy heat it up and can easily be cut with a Dremmel
i might even go as far as to make my sword from it, cause its suppose to be really hard, but light

I can recommend sintra, it's pretty awesome! :D

For the sword, if you were make it with sintra, you'd have to have it thick, because long peices of light weight sintra are fairly bendable.

yeah, i figured id want to double or triple up on them to give them some body

cause if this works out i can make mine and Stays sword

Panda found a place were she can get a 4 foot by 8 foot sheet for 50 bucks
so if i make a good pattern and place it right i can cut a few swords out to layer them together

any pointers on how to make the layers stick together?

Awesome, Acme!! I'm excited! Now if only Mike's Red Card wasn't too big to haul there......

This time I did it!!!

Illustrator pattern, seamless and as close as possible to the movie one!
Now get me those lasers!:cool

Thoughts?:)

Ramiel! N-I-C-E! You are an Adobe G-O-D! Have you been able to establish any sort of repeating pattern? I know the paisley shaped design is often flipped over and mirrored.

I'm tracking down an old Navy buddy of mine that worked in a metal shop. They had laser cutters for varying thickness of aluminum. If I can hunt him down I may be able to get some access to a laser cutter BUT I need to see if that would work on leather. They used to manufacture boat parts for railings, deck mounts, etc. but also could laser cut thicknesses down to about 1/8-1/16 of an inch.

I'll see if he is still around.

Hoping this Hatter and Card are on this list so they can get these images :)

These were also taken at the Faire in L.A.
One of the Faire's photographers captured these for me-I'm the noble in the green.

I know I also met a couple of you Hatter's out at the Faire, so hello again :)
