SDC10156.jpg

there are suppose to be 3 seams in the back ( im missing the one down the middle, my other coats have it though)
the 2 that line up with the sleeve seems should have fuzz in them
(i finished this before i realized that)
i cant guarantee that the tails are accurate, but they look really good and give it the frock it needs

Does anyone have a deent shot of the back of Hatter's coat? I'm trying to work out the accuracy of the back vent. Better yet, does anyone have pics of what they did?? And what color lining are people using for the blue coat? I'm assuming blue, but I can't find any strong reference. Thanks!!!

Hi Tin,
hope this helps. its the back of the original and the Lining
is the same color blue as the outside.

I found a few very useful Mad Hatter costume accessories on this website including anAuthentic Mad Hatter Pin Set, Mad Hatter Bowtie, Mad Hatter Eyebrows, Mad Hatter Hat and Mad Hatter deluxe wig.

They also seem to carry a large selection of other 2010 Alice in Wonderland accessories such as items for Alice Kingsley, the White Queen, the Red Queen, Stayne the Knave of Hearts and the white rabbit. You can view their Alice in Wonderland costume accessories or their selection of officially licensed Alice in Wonderland movie costumes by clicking on either link. Hope you guys find that helpful! I'm looking forward to my Queen of Hearts costume being completed!

Aaaaaaaaah! ACME they ARE yummy looking. *__* Even though I have no idea when Travis will wear Hatter again, I am hoping I can afford these beauties! The hat looks so depressed in my closet with no pins .... ( I lost them all... >_> woops. )

ACME you hat pins are yummy!! They're puurrrect!!
Looks like I'm gonna want a set myself!
I promise to wear them to only the finest occasions! ;)

Thanks ACME!
And yes, those pins are yummy! If I wasn't a stubborn, independant fool, I'd buy those in an instant for my costume. I'm almost done with mine...but perhaps I'll buy a set of your's off ebay just for the hell of it when they're available!

Hey guys, I'm about to order some of those Alice buttons from Hushco. Their size chart states 18 ligne is about 11.4 mm. Do you think that's quite small? I was thinking maybe at least 20 ligne, 1/2 inch. any thoughts?

i got to see those up-close and personal XD
and Dammit Richard!
now i know exactly how the frock works but its to late to go back and change anything
iv done 2 the way i did and the third is almost done if i did the grey coat like the way it should it would make everything look off

well now i know if i ever end up remaking the coat......i may just do the red coat like that
i think there is still time

I should have my husband make me one of these. It would be cool to have some of Alice's dresses and the White Queens dress as well...
I don't think he would be able to make the White Queen's dress though...

You doubt me??? ;) :lol

Nah jk, I COULD do it but I'd need patterns, fabric, and my machine from mom's house.

Went to FIDM today to do some more rabbit hole research and they were having a "scholarship sale".
They were selling lots of FIDM branded merch, as well as student made samples, and supplies.
They were also selling trims and fabrics used in the classrooms last semester
:)

I came across, and decided to buy, this daisy trim.
It was $8 for the roll, and I don't know how many yards are on it yet.

I figured that all of you doing the Um dress, looking for daisies, could use it, cutting the daisies, and tacking them to satin ribbon.

I'll figure out how many yards are on the roll, and divide that by 8 to figure out the price per yard.
I'm guessing there are 10+ yards on the roll.

Then if anyone would like the trim for their dresses, I'll send it off for the price per yard (just to cover my cost) plus shipping :)

OK-got tired of counting around 30 yards, so I'm guessing there are 60+ yards of this trim on the roll.

So if anyone would like some of this trim for your Um dresses, I'm guessing it's about 12 cents a yard for the trim.

Just let me know if you'd like any, how many yards, and I'll forward it off to you + shipping costs.

Is anyone interested in the Red Queen tights? or you guys all got them already. The manufacturer has new ones out, they are improved, the black color doesn't bleed into the white or red anymore, the squares are now slightly larger. They are thigh highs, not to the waist. Interested, please pm me. I'm going to put in an order with them soon.

Got my striped sheer for Um today!!!

As the ebay auction listed, it definitely is an off white...almost beige...but the stripes are definitely white and in contrast to the red and black fabric when layered, it looks just fine! Thank goodness.. As long as I don't layer or gather it too heavy it shouldn't be very noticeable. The fabric is perfect though and the size of the stripes is perfect too. I can put 5 white stripes in between every 2 black ribbons. :) ... yes, I'm insane, I know. Who COUNTS the stripes? o_O

I think the off white will be a little more apparent than I'd like on the bodice, however the bodice also has a pink gradient anyways so then again it may just be apparent on the back...which will be covered by hair anyways! :D

Here's a photo of it on top of the red/black...left is single and folded once over, inset is contrast on black, center is gathered ( the whole 120inches in a ball lol ) and right is contrast on a dirty white box...lol I think the black ribbon will help the contrast too. I'll probably make a mock up skirt and see if it's REALLY bad when it's all together and report back.

I may try to bleach a sample and see if it lightens up the off white a bit...so I'll post back after that.

But for $10 I think I can get away with it. If not, I'll keep on hunting since I have no deadline for Um and it's just a spare-time project. Oh, but it's also real drapery fabric so bonus points for authenticity. XD

MoRe Yummy ACME Goodness.
