Hi guys, been aware of this site for some time now and occasionally check out threads for details of bits and pieces but now that I've actually signed up I thought I might document my upgrades to my Thranduil cosplay!
This was my older version of the costume made mostly before the first movie. Once a few photos surfaced of his cane and red robe I made that shortly afterwards.
Now that Desolation of Smaug has come out in cinemas and I've seen it more than once
I am motivated to try and make the costume more fabulous and much more accurate. I've started by sculpting a new crown using scraps of Worbla, purchasing jewellery instead of using the cheaply made wire rings I had before.
I finished a new cane the other day after WETA released details of their replica one for sale so I used a 30year old farm tool handle, some perspex, clear resin, and worbla to make my own cheaper version.
Ive just been working on the jacket pattern and details this weekend so hopefully wont be too long until that is all finished!
Any feedback or advice would be fantastic!
