The X-Files: Cancerman's "Trust No One" Zippo

Finished this replica zipposleeve for Agliarept today. He wanted an accurate replica of cancerman's Zippo from the X-Files. He tried a couple of engravers who turned him down so he asked me if i could do it.

Font is a modified version of "Clearface regular", which is pretty darn close. Etched into the brass sleeve using photsensitive dryfilm and acid etching. Brass was then steelwooled

Pretty happy with both accuracy and final result :)

Sweet!

That should have been a walk in the park to do compared to the drac bible

Nice work, surprised people would turn him down for such a project :unsure simple but effective prop, I like :D

I made a replica back in the 90's when I worked for an engraver. I used Copperplate Gothic (I think), but I could have used Clearface. I wish I hadn't lost that Zippo when I moved. I used to smoke and I used it daily.

Looks great Marc! Awesome work as always. I don't suppose there will be a thread in the junkyard to follow??

thanks guys :)

these are nothing special or difficult, just a bit timeconsuming to get right. I'll see if i have more of these sleeves so i can offer a couple in the JY.

Wow...I have been looking for this exact zippo to frame with a great William B. Davis signed photo. GREAT job. I have seen many, but the font is always way off. I don't have that font on my computer, not have I ever heard of it. Ha. Are you open to doing another one? You did a fantastic job!
