The Wolverine

Doesn't sound unlike the comics?

Wounded bear, bleeding to death and pissed, Wolverine kills it.....Same as isn't it? They might just be hiding the fight section of it all in the words chosen to report the scene...."Wolverine kills it mercifully" could mean anything really...I'm suspecting he didn't do it by a poisoned candy bar left at the side of the hospital bed.. Heh..

I reckon that's all fine no?

In the comic, the bear attacked him because the poison drove it crazy, he fought the bear, killed it and went after the hunters afterwards. Seems like they just made it G rated.

Yeah....I read it of course...

But it doesn't sound like they've skipped that section really? Bear is wounded..Injured...Bleeding to death (Who knows about the poison, but perhaps?), and Wolverine kills it, then aims at the hunters who shot it.....Sounds pretty much spot on to me?

Of course, there's a more than fair chance they'll remove some of the rawness, but the basic story sounds spot on to me...And we won't know the rest until we see it...

I have no problem with what I've heard so far...

" He has a huge, bushy beard and, as he stands and wanders the forest, he comes across a bear, bleeding to death and in a great deal of pain. Although he can't stand to break the vow, he also can't let the creature suffer and, killing it mercifully, heads into town to seek vengeance against the hunter that illegally left it to die."

The hunter left it to die, he just merely puts it out of it's misery. It says it as clear as day in the overview.

Yep..I read that too.. ;-)

But....The story is the same......Hunter shoots bear, leaves it to die, bear goes nuts ("in a great deal of pain"), Wolverine comes in to hunt it down, kills it, feels angry about the hunter who shot it ("left it to die"), and heads into town to find him....You don't see that?

I don't see the difference......It's a write up...In very basic English (since they're not going to explain the whole thing in detail unless they want to destroy the film early...And they won't do that)....And it fits rather well with the original story...

I'm sure they HAVE changed it a touch, but the basics of the story, in a very basic write up about it, match closely enough to cause me no concern...That's all..

I'm busy growing my Wolverine facial hair lol!
Ha..I've been doing the same :D. Last time I did that was when X2 came out in theatres.

After two trailers, I have not been watching any more trailers and scenes for this though.

These last weeks are taking sooo long for this movie to arrive! People ask me "what's with the beard?" And look even more confused when I say "its for The Wolverine!" Some people didn't even know there was a new Wolverine movie until about a month ago. Luckily, I come here for all the movie & entertainment news to keep updated :)

I keep getting the same question, though I am not telling anyone it's for Wolverine until I get the shaved look just few days before the movie gets released.

I'm in the same boat, it's driving my wife crazy, lol.

Just this morning I was thinking "I'm kind of surprised there isn't a thread for showing off your wolvie beard" sort of like the ASM2 fitness thread.

Nice pics TheWolverine, looking good. And judging by the Wolverine costume thread posts, you're probably one of the few who already got the black suit look covered, even down to the new hair style :cool.

Who on here is going dressed up with claws? This day and age, I thought about calling the movie theatre ahead of time to let them know that a Wolverine with claws would be coming considering what happened last year at TDKR...Thoughts?

I might wear claws and my KMart Wolvie jacket. I'm making super lightweight claws made out of foamboard, I might double stick tape them directly onto my knuckle area so I don't have to hold them. I ran out of X-Acto blades at the moment, but once I finish em, trim my chops & do some minor jacket mods, I'll post in the "Wolverine All Day" thread

Don't know what all the whining is about. Been seeing it on every website with the first 2 clips. I am personally excited because we haven't seen fighting like this in any of the movies. The only thing I am worried about is silver samurai.
