I really wish no one had mentioned the clicking noise with the scanning sound. I never noticed it on mine until it was mentioned and I saw a video where you could here it. I then checked mine and it was there and now I can't stop hearing it because I'm looking for it. It is not a big bother but it is there.

I don't see the big issue....gives the prop a more 1960's prop feeling.

Imagine the clicking noise as being like the *Blip* on the motion detector from Aliens and a click would make sense for that era, so basically your tricorder is detecting movement or a nearby anomaly

Here’s a possible temporary workaround…..

The below attached is a 30sec sound clip of the tricorder scanning sound sfx …..

With this sound clip…go into a noiseless quite area…..then play back the sound clip while recording the sound clip as a 30sec Personal Log entry recording.

Now when you want to hear the scanning sound…..just access and playback your personal log entry recording of the scanning sound.

Give it a try…..

There’s other sources of the scanning sound sfx online … you might find one better than the one I provided…but you get the idea..

Btw…. I couldn’t figure out how to just attach an mp3 clip so I made it as a still shot video w/audio….the sound clip is still usable for the possible temporary workaround procedure.

“IF” the China factory had QA…someone might have dropped the egg…not paying attention…could also be a corrupt software load….many other could be’s along the whole production process. Perhaps TWC needs there own QA if they don’t already have it.

Get a noise canceling external speaker with built-in mic. Strap it on to your tricorder. Zip ties work, duct tape better! Turn both on. The clicking is now canceled acoustically by the inverted phase (oh, and every other beep and boop.) You can’t win for losing!

The iPhone mic really picked the motor noice up. It’s not that loud in person.

Suggest you contact Amazon to find out what the problem is. Ordered mine on Thursday. Got them Saturday .

If it helps any: I ordered on the 26th, was given a delivery date on the 27th, and got my own “encountering a delay” message moving my order to Jul 3.

I still get 2 day delivery when things are SLOW. I also get guaranteed ONE day delivery. I also get "Hey, it's Wednesday evening, do you want it Thursday between 4 and 8 am ? For FREE DELIVERY ? Look at it this way……which would you rather have of the two……a Science Tricorder Scanner Scanning with a popping sound….or a Scanner, Scanning your head to explode?
