Thanks guys, do we know for a fact that that is tip to tip? screw hole to screw hole? or externally visible end to end where they go into the side pockets? I don't remember if they took it off and measured the whole strap or just the externally visible portion.

Their blog post number 9 covers the details of the strap. This is what it said about it.

'We’re not sure of the provenance of the strap currently fitted to the tricorder we studied in Los Angeles. What we can say, though, is that that particular strap was 19 mm wide, about 1.5 mm thick, and had a visible length of 1350 mm. It was stitched along both edges and was folded over but otherwise unfinished, so it had one neat edge and one raw edge which showed the back of the leatherette.'

Earlier when I looked it listed overnight delivery. now it shows Aug 4th as the delivery.

Now it's jumped again to August 13th for me. Started as Tomorrow (1 day), then Aug 4th, now Aug 13th. I'm surprised to see it still up. I haven't checked in on FB group to see what kind of drama is going on over there.

I don’t have an answer for your question……but if your changing straps…..that’s the opportunity to cut-to-fit the length you would be comfortable with for your height and how the length feels while your wearing the tricorder.

Did you want the tricorder to hang at your waistline, above or below?

I think this is the longest an amazon tricorder sale has been going. An hour and 40 mins so far.

Perhaps a sign demand is finally dropping as I would think most have something in hand or preordered from the other sites.

No problem. I've just got it out the box to measure with a tape measure. I changed mine a while ago so it was easy to measure it. The actual strap length is around 146cm with the holes around 1cm from the end.

Yeah I figured I would just line it up with the factory strap, but wanted to triple confirm the measurement from the screen used one in case they were off a bit.

I don’t have an answer for your question……but if your changing straps…..that’s the opportunity to cut-to-fit the length you would be comfortable with for your height and how the length feels while your wearing the tricorder.

Yeah I was going to wait and see once I got it. wanted to play with it before deciding prop accurate or sized to fit.

I did that when doing mine. I also realised that there is around 2 inches on either side that are covered by the side panels. Adding a couple of extra holes in this hidden section of the strap gives you some adjustment possibilities without having to permanently making the strap shorter.

What’s sad is that many of these that just sold are already headed straight to fleaBay. Hopefully, a few members here on the RPF who grabbed a second one will offer it up at cost to someone in need

Perhaps I should order some more off amazon UK in case anyone over there gets shafted, saves them having to pay ebay prices.
Not sure about shipping with the battery though, most UK postal and delivery services won't accept a product with a battery to send abroad.

Yeah. I'm just thinking from a standpoint of being able to help. I've still got access to them but it's gonna cost lol. Be almost 700 pounds for 2 and I would understand if the shipping was too much.
