The Video Game Thread - anything and everything...

I got bored and started a new game of The Secret of Monkey Island SE because I haven't played it since my nephew was around 10yo (19 now). Anyway I don't know how the heck I played this when it came out (I was 12 in 1990) because I can't remember what to do most of the time and have to use a guide. I somehow beat this game as a kid without any internet.
I'm the same way with a lot of games, or games with really bad controls, or just insanely hard with very little way to actually win.
A few years ago I tried playing Goldeneye on N64. I couldn't believe hard bad the controls were. Couldn't even beat a level, and back in the day, I got through all the hardest modes and unlocked a ton of the cheats.

I've enjoyed collection Playstation trophies as its something extra fun to try and achieve and I really like that they out a date stamp on each one, so I can go back and when I got each one.
And the PS4 takes a picture, and PS5 a short video.
With PS4, I always like it when you get a really hard trophy and the picture is really cool, and even better when its the Platinum.
I just finished the Kingdom Hearts dlc trophies.
Kinda glad, as I can go do other stuff finally.
I like seeing that 100% for both.
Anyone else like collecting trophies/achievements, or similar?

Yesterday, when I was able to get the trophy that has the percent of 0.1 people getting it, this was the picture I got. Pretty good one I'd say.

And 4 years ago when I first played KH3, my last trophy was getting to level 99, and then also the Platinum would pop a sdcond later.
Was hoping to get a cool Platinum picture doing a lighting spell, but since the 99 level one popped first, this one endednup looking better. (Oops, forgot to crop it)

My Platinum for Final Fantasy 12 is a good one, as I was doing the most ultimate magic attack at the time.
Anyone have any good pics like these?

Just finished a new video doing tests with haste from Chrono Trigger. I got pretty technical with some stuff. Figured someone here might enjoy it.....and right at 3:24, I had meant to crop more off the video screen capture and didn't catch it until after posting that my browsers tabs were still in the shot....so the RPF gets a little cameo....as does part of my email...thankfully just barely cut off....

Oh, this happened today: I got a call from our game store that a game I had on wishlist came in. 60 bucks. I was stoked it was worth at least 80 just for the cartridge and it had box and extras for an nes classic that will only go up. I got there and they were scanning it and the guy says that is kind of a great deal. Almost looks like its trade in value not its sale price. Inventory said 160. I laughed, check the sticker, part of the number was missing. No harm no foul. This store is always good to me so I let it slide. They will call me if no one on the list wants it at that price. I would be better of if it only had the game and no extras.

What game?

Dragon Warrior II, american NES version
Never played those games, got more into the Final Fantasy games. Even used to have the first one, played for a few mins, and never took the time to play anymore. A friend barrowed it, and I never got it back.....although I still have his copy of Super Metroid.
...and another friends Mario RPG....and another ones Golden Eye.
I had lost my original Gold copy of Zelda Ocarina of Time, probably around 2005. I had to move a bunch and live in places that weren't so great, so guessing thats where that, and other stuff went missing. BUT, a few years ago, when I was still with my ex, her son came home from a friends house and he gives me a new gold copy of the game, as his friend didn't have an N64 anymore....that was pretty cool.

I never played any of those. I remember playing the demo for one of them, but I don't recall why I didn't buy it. I love military stuff so no clue. The only thing I can think of is that there was something else that came out around the same times that I bought instead.
