Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered launched today. For those who don't live and breathe this nonsense, the remaster was not developed in house at Bethesda - which means they didn't opt to make this instead of working on ESVI, which is in all likelihood still a couple years off.

I tried playing Oblivion years ago and all the enemies were damage sponges so I quit maybe 20 hours in. My nephew said you have to play as a mage, which make no sense if they give you multiple classes. He's pushing me to play the remaster like his crack empire will go broke if I don't.

It's been a solid 15 since I played it all the way through, but it feels very much like the old game under a very shiny new coat. That said, they did mess around with the combat a little bit and enemies react to being hit now.

I've owned every single iteration of it and still never got around to playing it, so I bought the upgrade and hopefully this time I will get around to it. That said I also just did the $10 Pro upgrade for the remastered version of Days Gone on PS5 Pro which just dropped today.

I'm about a hairsbreadth away from getting rid of my PS5. I can get all the exclusives on PC eventually if I care enough, and I haven't booted the thing up in months...

Just curious. Which PS5 games do you have? I've been holding off on buying a PS5 because there's no exclusives I care enough to play.

The people I know that have PS5s tell me the same thing. They barely play on it.

I have Spider-Man (which is excellent), both Last of Us remasters (got about half way through part one and the environmental puzzles bored me so I quit), FFVII Remake (again, awesome), all of the Nathan Drake games, God of War 2018, Phoenix Rising (a ubisoft Breath of the Wild style adventure set in mythological Greece) and some other various stuff I bought back on PS4.

For the most part those are all really good games, but for one reason or another I just don't get into them or give up halfway through. God of War is hugely acclaimed, pretty, fun to play, but the power-leveling nonsense just turned me off. I wanted to throw axes and kill things, I didn't want to worry about if my armor stats were good enough to try a new area. Last of Us has a gripping story, but it completely disconnects for me at about the third time I have to find a driftwood raft to float this kid across a flooded basement. Phoenix Rising is fun and kinda funny, but after like 120 hours of AC Odyssey I had had enough of the ubisoft house style of climbing **** to fill in a map and then visit all the new little icons.

Most of my grumbles probably come from being over 40 and not having infinite time to sink into games anymore. If I'm not enjoying it enough, I'm done.

Most people have the "no exclusives I care about" mentality towards Xbox these days, and though I traditionally like their exclusives more (Halo specifically), I play on my PC more than anything lately.

Ghost of Yotei gets a release date. Oct 2. Looks like a day one buy.

A new dev diary for the upcoming Menace from the developers of Battle Brothers. Looks like Xcom using squad combat. Another one for the wishlist.

Personally, Ive been playing my PS5 alot. I dont just play exclusives though and play alot of games from the PS Plus Extra catalogue.

Some exclusives to check out are God of War series (Greek trilogy is better and still exclusive), Uncharted trilogy, Infamous, and Astrobot. There are also some great games trapped on console like Shadow of the Colossus.

I have all the games I want to play on my PS3/PS4 and most of the Sony games until recently were also released on PS4. My brother bought the PS5 and got bored with it and went back to his PS4. Not enough games he was interested in he said. I have stuck with the Playstations and I dont think I will bother to upgrade again. I'm happy with what I've got.

The view count is sky rocketing like crazy. In just like 30 mins it went from 39 million views, to almost 40.6 million. And all these views in just 12 hours. Also almost 392,000 comments as of right now. Even if a person hates these games, I think anyone could see this is one of the biggest games ever made.
Just hope it can actually live up to this hype.

It’s the main reason I bought a PS5 Pro. We also just got the Gears of War Remade announcement joining Forza as former Xbox exclusives coming to PS5 this year and insiders still maintain that Halo collection is coming to PS5.

GTA6 is looking awesome. Amazing graphics, I think it's going to be great. I still play GTA5 and still find areas I hav'nt seen before. Still not buying a PS5 just to play GTA6 though. I will stick with what I've got.

Yeah I've played GTA 5 a ton of times. I'm on PC so I can wait until 2028... I also want to see how it goes since they made a big deal about the "culture shift" at Rockstar. That could be good or could be GTA for the modern audience. I have no interest in a neutered GTA.

I'm also still going through Red Dead 2, and about 228 hours into it. Close to the end of the story, but keep finding side stuff to do. Such a huge game. Makes me wonder how much bigger GTA6 will be, game play wise.
Also in Red Dead 2, still have a bunch of trophies I want to try and get, like studying all the animals, and skinning everyone required, as well as a few more.
