The Ultimate Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi Real Vintage Parts Lightsaber Group

Ah, my old video is all grown up

Being horrified at hearing the sound of your own voice never ever goes away…
There is a shortage of perfect xxxxxxx you-tube voices in the world, t’would be a pity to damage yours!

Seriously good videos. I’ve learn a lot from them in a short window of time thanks to them. And plenty worse voices out there lol.

New vintage stampless windvane for my build! Courtesy of an inertMk2 of all things! At first I wasn’t sure if the threading was the same but thankfully it was!

I do/did already have a correct profile stampless and really, even better condition vane - however I couldn’t get the patina right and I wasn’t liking the sort of dark brown/jet black shiny look that comes with aging chemicals, so I’m pleased!

Perhaps an example of a “nice problem to have”, I know. But I find myself becoming more and more picky as I progress on with this thing. I know I’m not the only one haha!

Something wonderful thanks to my great friend ChrisRWars!

Until recently I'd only ever seen one vintage booster that had the hole in the correct spot in relation to the weld. I owned it for a brief while before it was traded away. But a little while ago Kian and I were chatting and he thought he spotted one with the hole in the right spot! A lot of luck and some legwork later, and he had it in hand. It's on its way to me as one of several very exciting upgrades that will make my Obi complete for real!

This may seem like a small insignificant detail, but for the number of these I've owned not to mention seen, I think this is a particularly rare and wonderful find. I think the others here in this thread may appreciate that as well :)

Here's us being super chill about the whole thing.

That moment right there, telling you over the phone that I was still struggling to sort it, then holding it up to the camera. Hahaha love it.

Much love man, anybody else here that knows you also knows whole-heartedly you deserve this, can’t wait to see Sym-Cha ’s updated index and your chronicles pics once it’s done. LFG!!

2 pins. Perfect hole. Handful of beautiful natural damage and weathering. This is: A Diamond in the Rough!

Great fishing ChrisRWars and good eats coming your way schrodinger555! What an amazing find. Jealous AF but also very lovely to see this piece.

Nice score gentlemen, however in most of my Index pictures that tiny hole is hardly visible in most boosters due to light and shadow, let alone it's position in regards to where the weld is supposed to be. Some boosters hardly have a remnant of the weld visible in my Picture Index. That said it's nice to know only a few of all these real vintage parts lightsabers in this group will be slightly more accurate to the original than others . . . if only for the exact placement of a teeny tiny hole ;)

I personally haven’t done more than put the parts together.
That said I love those who don’t and have them on display in their raw original form, or those that are so accurate they want the tiny camera screw in place in the clamp, with the cotter pin.
I just want to collect, enjoy and preserve.
I couldn’t face drilling or damaging my parts. The attention to detail in wanting that pin in the right place is exactly what I would want too, I didn’t understand that, that was different ? I always just assumed it was welded to the pin on all boosters.
Mine is only missing the booster. Can’t wait to finish it. Great find congrats.

It was always only ever a dream of mine, seeing real parts builds on the internet, Romans and then coming here.
I never ever thought I would get as far as I have and I’m honestly very lucky and privileged to be among all the others that own or are collecting.
Lovely pic by the way.

Had this spare vintage female sitting around and in desperate need of its clothes back! Lithium grease and blowtorch strat was employed !!

Congratulations Sym-Cha on such a huge achievement, being the creator of the thread after all. You’ve helped me out tremendous amounts and I still owe you!! 1 million next ;)

For the sake of research, mine has this same hole alignment to the weld. I’ll check against the others I’ve built

I've owned 8 boosters so far, and two of them have had the detail with this new acquisition. It's a very rare thing from what I can tell, and Kian noticed that generally they're two fins off from the weld and the recessed hole that holds the pin the booster is welded to. I haven't noticed it in other photos but I'd be interested to see whether it's just yours or others you've had in hand as well! I know you've built many of these.
