^ Of course I'll keep some alright-ish looking ones for my prop ;)

Thank you to you all for your posts over here on the RPF and the crazy work that goes into figuring out what comes from where. None of our journey's would be so straight-forward (well, to an extent. god it's hard finding these parts) - were it not for the hard work of those who go out and seek these details. And again thank you to everyone who has reached out and helped me through these early stages of my collecting. I'm still a newbie with much to learn.

Bravo and onto the next!

Has anyone had tolerance issues with Roman's Balance Pipe Insert? I just picked up his small kit and the insert is baiscally impossible to install without significant force and I'm obviously not going to do that. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

I had to shave mine down.
I filled and sanded it until it slipped right through.

I got the piece sanded down enough for a nice fit. SO, thanks for the advoce y'all.

Another question, how do y'all prep the bubble strip for mounting? A few years ago, I sanded the back down to remove the pegs, but not too far as to ruin the clarity behind the bubbles. I then angled the edges to fit under the clamp. Is that still considered accurate, or is it more sand the edges down flat to fit in the space?

If it’s original it’s original.
Personally I would argue that the sides need to be uniform but honestly at the end of the day it’s your saber and it should be more a question of, if it’s original and on the item when it’s finished can YOU put up with it ?

I often see people mentioning a real parts Facebook group on here. Is there a link to that group available?

I think the most active group for props of the OT is this one:
a lot of names we see here are there too :)
there was a group to discuss only found parts but it wasn't very active and was deleted in the purge of the "Star Wars" named groups I'm afraid

Been keeping this under my hat because it had major delivery issues.
It was 8 miles from me then misdirected and sent 108 miles away, then back and back again.
Four days later it was finally delivered and I was freaking the hell out rofl.
She’s not perfect but she’s mine :)

And a photo shoot inside. Now I think it’s time to sell my two spare converted males balance pipes.
