Floor experience...

I once had a black epoxy floor in a pretty large collection room. High tech looking, but hated every minute of it because it always looked dusty, and was very hard to clean perfect.

I've seen lots of polished / stained concrete and with a multicolor application, it's easier to clean and doesn't look dusty so easily.

I personally couldn't wait to put carpet down.

For any audio in the room, that large of a reflective surface will be a killer, certainly combined with all the other hard walls.

Philip, I completely agree. I think the paint will completely be temporary. I had originally wanted this very nice steel looking tile that my wife found, but the price was crazy high. However, you are also absolutely correct about the sound, and though my high end audio is in the theater section of the room, it does echo more than I would like now, so I am thinking carpet tiles.

My wife being in the industry, can score great deals on these tiles, and I have actually found several that I think would work:

The top one would have worked if it was all one color. The checked
pattern kind of ruins the look for me.

But I agree with the others, The bottom of looks perfect. I thought of
the death star surface the moment I saw it too!

thank you very much man. It has been a challenge, and there is a long road ahead with lighting, audio, etc. but it is fun. Thank god i have an understanding wife!

well, I had a blast the last couple of days hanging out the my dad. We worked on my 2/3 r2, and finished off a couple more pieces of the room. I realize now that my August 11 deadline is NOT going to happen, but I don't want to rush the project now, all my work would be wasted. So I will do my best to get done with what I can, and then just keep going.

At any rate, here are some cool shots of the droids in the space. Enjoy!

This here is the new panel control under the window, kind of a fun piece. It still needs more lights, a few more switches and such, but all in good time.
