I'm so jealous!
looks real backdrop for film, and then the cool stick
Ha! Is that an adjustable stock for the lever?
What prompted the 2/3 scale R2's? opposed to 1:1? Was it a styling choice?

Its a funny story, but the short version is when I started my poker table, I wanted astromech droids to serve as end tables. You know, with trays on their shoulders like in ROTJ when R2 is in Jabba's sail barge serving drinks. This way you could put drinks and snacks on the tray tables.
So after that, we found that building a 2/3 size was much cheaper. All the parts are hand carved, mostly wood, but some styrene and PVC. Then we got into making molds and casting them so we could build more. I'd ultimately like to have three in the basement. If they were full size I'd never have the space, time, or money for it.
However, both my dad and I plan on building a full size in the near future:love
Just read through the entire thread. Savored every minute of it. I know it's been said many times before but your room is epic man. The thought & creativity that has gone into it is simply stunning. Can't wait to see what's next.
I recognized the AR butt-stock immediately! Looks fantastic and the R2 units are too cool. I'm currently building a full-sized R2 via Astromech.net. The room is coming along amazingly. I always look forward to your thread updates.
Fuzzual,
Will you get into, to much, trouble; if you are not done by Aug.?
Does he meet the height requirements to be out of a booster seat?just a funny little shot of R2 strapped in for the ride to work. I had to take him and show him to my coworkers.
