Re: The Smugglers Room - Entertainment Room

WOW! You've nailed it with those red panels. The weathering is spot on! Fantastic work!

What is your plan for the floor?

Re: The Smugglers Room - Entertainment Room

You might look at a rotary dimmer switch. You might even be able to replace the round head with one of the greebles you are using on the rest of the wall. Then you could have a hidden light switch. Also when looking up rotary switches I found this one that seemed to go with the theme:

dont know the site but liked the design.

Yes it does, and I have plans to replace it soon, with something that blends with the rest of the decor;)

Re: The Smugglers Room - Entertainment Room

Hey Fuzz,

Looks like you started using the "Chrome" paint?

Re: The Smugglers Room - Entertainment Room

Wow!!!
The contrast of that red on those panels looks fantastic and the intricate pin-striping, it just screams star wars. You have really nailed the aesthetics and feel of the star wars sets in just that one panel/wall alone. I can wait to see how the whole room will tie together when finished to the same degree, especially with that amazing window.

Thank you. I am going to paint the floor (with concrete paint) to start. At some point I am planning to put down a great "steel" looking tile, but that will have to wait for the $$$

I like it. However, that switch is a florescent, so I need a switch (not a dim-able control) I am sure I can find some crazy thing out there, but if you run across something definitely let me know.

Yeah man, it is so much better than the other stuff I was using.

Thank you Welsh, should make some great progress this weekend!

Re: The Smugglers Room - Entertainment Room

Just curious, what are you going to be using on the floor? I am thinking some type of shiny surface would suit the room best.

Also you should put cctv around the house and every time your wife leaves the kitchen you should say "TK421 why aren't you at your post" over an intercom. haha.

Re: The Smugglers Room - Entertainment Room

Thank you so much my friend, that is Perfect!!!!

It's all coming together and looking fantastic.

Here's my suggestions for the light switch replacement:

Amazon.com: Classic Accents Single Pole Antique Reproduction Push Button Light Switch: Home Improvement

Or you could go with a big mash button style but would require some modding:
Pushbutton, Illuminated, 30mm - Illuminated Pushbuttons - Push Buttons - 2EN47 : Grainger Industrial Supply
2EN49_AS01

Personally I like the top one.
