Did you find or buy those heat sinks?

Just a small update, I spent most of the day yesterday repainting the ceiling panels, but I did manage to get a start on this guy!

Re: The Smugglers Room - Entertainment Room

The heat sinks were more Or less found. Being in the av industry, I have collected several old pieces of equipment, as well as some old computers. I took them apart and stashed the good parts;)

Re: The Smugglers Room - Entertainment Room

It's amazing how a few blocks of wood and some heat-sinks and some paint can look amazing. Keep up the great work!

Re: The Smugglers Room - Entertainment Room

This is awesome dude, I suspect your wife will have a hard time pulling you out of this room once it's done. The force is strong in this one.

Re: The Smugglers Room - Entertainment Room

I don't know how I missed this thread but this is amazing. You really captured the look and feel of Star Wars. Nice work.

Re: The Smugglers Room - Entertainment Room

I love the use of one of those little fruit cups on one of your displays. I have saved some of those in the past for stuff like this.

Can't wait to see more. This room is going to be awesome.

Re: The Smugglers Room - Entertainment Room

This project continues to blow my mind.

Lol, good eye! I have been saving stuff like that for years, it makes me laugh when people notice it.

Re: The Smugglers Room - Entertainment Room

You know, i watched star wars last night and while watching i had an idea...... I thought it would be cool for you to have the droid detector device thingy from inside the cantina next your door, maybe you could have it linked to your door so that when the door opens you get a flash of light and the sound "hey we dont serve your kind here, your droids will have to wait outside".

Just a thought.

The following are the ceiling tiles. I was able to find some very inexpensive in-ceiling lights that match the decor fairly well.

Here they are installed, its just the first two, but I'm pretty happy with how they look! (Keep in mind that there are plenty of things that need adjustment: transition strips between panels, touch up, etc.)
