Re: The Smugglers Room - Entertainment Room
Hello all! The Smugglers Room is back . . . well at least on its way back. From August until now roughly, i have not been able to spend any real time on the project. Between Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the worst flu i have ever had, little to no progress has happened.
That all being said, I have spent a considerable amount of time trying to design the rest of the room, and I thought I would share with you what I have ultimately decided. I was totally bummed that I was not able to use the great design Steve Starkiller did for me (the Red Death Star Control Console), but after much consideration I just could not make it work in the space the way I thought. But never fear Steve, my current employer would like to see it built and on display in our showroom. But i digress . . .
Keep in mind there is plenty missing from the drawings, and I will try to update a detailed image of the cabinet design so you can get the true vision of what I am after. But after seeing the work Sofa King is doing on the Falcon Cockpit
http://www.therpf.com/f9/1-1-millennium-falcon-console-replica-147319/, and other cool projects like Amazing DJ's Star Wars Den project
http://www.therpf.com/f9/star-wars-movie-set-den-build-170250/ I'm just about to lose my mind with envy.
So, my apologies that the following are not actual progress shots, but I wanted to show the design for the back wall and get some input from you all. I travel next week, but then let the building of the west wall begin.
As always thanks for your input, and thanks for looking!
This is the layout without and with measurements:
This is a sample of what I am doing with the base, and some of the main panels.
