the RPF 2011 Halloween Costume Contest

I've got a question, can an original concept costume, something that you just made up that is, be ok to enter? I wouldn't normally ask but since this is a group whose focus is to make replicas, I just wanted to double check before I submit my entry.
 
Hey there, I have three questions:
1. Can the entry be from a computer game as well?
2. Will it be mentioned on the voting page which costumes are made from scratch, and which are not?
3. Do I need to put the costume on for the proof picture?

I know I am new and particularly unqualified to say who is and is not the best at everything in the world, but in regard to the debate over who gets to vote and who doesn't might be solved by having two polls, one as an open poll to whomever votes, like every other internet contest (My little nephew won a free trip worth 5 or 6 hundred bucks because our family is massive and everyone can vote once a day from every email they have, not because he was the best singer out of 200 kids), and one that is member based so a little more selective. Awards accordingly. Maybe this is something to consider next time, or so worthy of attention that you kick me out of the boards for having brought it up and give me the Billy Madison response I so well deserve, "Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

In the mean time, I am pretty excited about the whole thing.
 
In awe of all of the talent and creativity on this site. As an amateur and a newbie, just wanted to say thank you for welcoming me and being so helpful with my "silly,first timer" questions. I can't wait to take my creatiive ideas and actually make them with all of the new skills each of you are teaching me. Hoping my son's costume will be finished in time for this year. Just submitted my entry - despite a lack of boobs showing on the picture and a lack of Facebook friends to recruit for voting. :lol Good luck to everyone, can't wait to see all the great costumes!
 
Glad to have all of you entering! Should be an amazing show this year and some stiff competition if the entries I have seen already are a measure of what is to come!

Send it in under your gender. We have had a lot of female Captain Jacks in the past and they would still go in under the women's side of the contest.
 
Even though my costume isn't nearly as detailed as some of the entries I've seen before, I'll be taking pictures on Saturday and submitting them.
 
Can't wait, first chance to take the costume out tomorrow night and should get some sweet pics! I love Halloween on Mondays - I get to wear it out 3 nights :thumbsup :D
