The OT stunt lightsaber blades research thread

Please let me know, otherwise I’ll reach out

We have to stay cool calm and collected

Looks like I found a more suitable option . A Glomex with a 5/8" thread at the base. Looks to be about the right diameter. Thoughts?

This looks pretty accurate as well.

Notice how the pole becomes narrower and tapered towards the top.
Real ILM stunt blades are also tapered towards the top.

But, the only way to pinpoint the exact brand/make would be to compare antenna base area as well as cross-section of the bottom when the pole is cut off.

I have a CX4AIS on it's way to me as well. I don't know how it compares to the CX4-1. I'll document it too, maybe the Glomex is closer?

That's the same question I'm pondering. I'm assuming these things are super durable. It's just a question of which one is the best

Stunt lightsaber blade in action.

Not the correct antenna though.

I totally missed the cue about the cores, sorry guys

Yes, a solid hunk of aluminum, with a steel rod embedded in it somehow, was bolted into the flash gun or tubular sabers. the exposed steel was a place to lock down set screws in a blade

A little side question.
Could they have broken several blades in Empire and Jedi and just never had BTS footage/ pictures? Fiberglass tubes and I'm assuming duroplast have to break eventually .

Yea my arms are real long they reach to Massachusetts

also it came - I have a separate thread to document everything and keep this thread cleaner

Some of you may or may not know, but Tom and I decided to go different routes

He’ll be cutting up the CX-4 and I will be cutting up a Golmex

So how different or the same they each are

Anyone got the extra length? My scaling I’m coming up with 32”

I don’t want to cut mine until we can all agree on the correctly length

My tip is 9mm my bottom is 20mm with a even taper stretching across 4ft
