Yes, it also looks like its Jeans Guy wearing the shorts....Wonder if that was done or purpose
So say we all!I see the Mandalorians in the series (Din Djarin 'Children of the Watch', 'The Nite Owls', & even the doubt of how pure Boba is as a Mandalorian) as the different groups of Star Wars fans, broken up, considering ourselves true fans
Hopefully the Favreau-Filoni direction & plan will be to unite the different factions, or to highlight that the different factions can coincide

If I had any faith in Disney or Lucasfilm anymore, I would advocate for some short special with Sebastian Stan, and two other actors for Harrison and Carrie, just as a simple, fun adventure, disconnected from everything else. Like, when Han mentions a bounty hunter on Ord Mandel, not that it would need to be that specifically. But just a short, twenty to thirty minute little film with no CGI faces and a real attempt to merely be a fun romp with our heroes. But preferably not post-ROTJ. No tie-ins to other storylines or characters from various EU sources, no Easter eggs beyond seeing the three OT heroes (and obviously their various counterparts, like Chewie, Threepio, and Artoo). Just a little action piece with no responsibility to prop up a new show or pump up D+ subscriptions.

I know this isn’t the whole deal, but specifically in the thumbnail for this video, and a few shots in it, the deepfake has not replicated the catch lights, which make up a big part of how we respond to “living” or “human” characters. It’s the light in the eyes.I have to say...it's something I'd have to just "get over" and dismiss moving forward, but there's something I can't really articulate about the way Mark Hamill's eyes contribute so much to his performance that another actor just can't replicate. In many of those shots, while Sebastian superficially resembles him very closely, his eyes make him look...bored, or phoning it in, or just lacking in the same amount of conviction. (I know, it's a deepfake and not an actual performance, so it can't be fully rated like one, but I'm just saying.) Like he's just standing there staring at whoever he's talking to instead of really expressing how the character feels. I don't know. For me there's just something unique about Mark's portrayal of Luke that will be irreplaceable, even as the character will need somebody else, or multiple somebodies, to continue the role in live-action (and yes, at this point, I'd frankly be much more satisfied if we never saw him live-action again).
Maybe there's another guy out there who could capture Luke the way Mark did, but I'd be hella picky about who that is. Seb is fine as a stand-in, but there's more to a character than just looking like a carbon copy of them. Can they exude Luke Skywalker is what I'd be most concerned about.
(Sorry for hijacking a Mando thread, just wanted to leave my $.02.)
I get what you mean but TBF until they put a costume on him and have him act out the scenes with proper lighting this is not really representative. I chalk this up to the deepfake tech. Eyes were pretty dead and flat in the Mando episode as well for me and that was supposedly Mark with CG de-age.I have to say...it's something I'd have to just "get over" and dismiss moving forward, but there's something I can't really articulate about the way Mark Hamill's eyes contribute so much to his performance that another actor just can't replicate. Oh, I agree, but that’s why I would have liked to see him do the role (in Mando) aside from just having a real person there rather than a CG mask. I like Stan, I’d like to see how he’d do.Yeah, that does seem to be the prevailing problem with deepfake/questionable de-aging/whatever tech. They'd really need to focus on improving that, if they really insist on utilizing it. And that is indeed one of the issues that had me cringing from the Mando appearance (but not the sole one).
And I agree, that's the main reason I'm seemingly one of the few people on Earth not on the Stan bandwagon yet, lol - everyone's fixated on the physical resemblance but I need to see the guy audition before I'm convinced, or not convinced.
